compete and I don't get along either. We were like 420k in April, now the new update 1.5mil.
I asked them to omit us, but they said NO.
Perhaps time to post about how compete is flawed ;) they won't like how I get top 10 google search on my keywords over and over hee hee

We had finally gotten to about 400k but now we're back up to 1.5mil on their last update! And I have NO IDEA why.
That's a pretty epic difference there. I've definitely come across a few mixed views about Compete so it'll be interesting to see whether or not this API helps. We'll keep an eye on it! Thanks!

Thanks so much for flagging this up! Tweaking the verification emails right now (and making sure they don't wind up in the spam folder!) I'll get on changing your name on the site too.
Incidentally Suba @ Wealth Informatics got it bang on! Basically you can't change your username once you've registered but you can change your nickname by… -> login -> change nick name -> set the public display name to what you want. I hope that helps!

Ahhhhh. Good question. It's all to do with when the data gets updated (happens at a certain time all in one fell swoop!) Fixing it up now. All of your data should update soon. I'll keep you posted!

Guys you're all awesome! Thanks so much for getting registered and for your brilliant feedback.
A couple of points based on your wise words:
1. You don't need a WordPress account to access the dashboard or the list! The sign-up is just for entering a couple of details to the algorithm can pull all the relevant info off the web!
2. Tweaking the verification email stuff right now. I've approved the applications of all of the outstanding 'unverified users' so you should all be able to access your accounts now with no problems now. Got to love WordPress and it's funny ways!
3. Had a few probs with the data update (which is why for a few of you it's looking like you've got no stats! Sorry!) Fixing it all up now. Hopefully in a couple of hours, it'll all be looking hunky dory.
4. A few people have asked 'how do I change my name?' No worries. While you can't change your username (just like the Yakezie forum), you can change your nickname by going to -> login -> change nick name -> set the public display name.
5. A few of you don't rate technorati or compete. That's cool. I've heard a few mixed reviews there too. I'll keep an eye on the scores to see if it goes a bit awry!

Cheers Sam! Thanks so much for the link. Initially I was a tad worried about
the table's functionality, which is why I didn't email or message all of the members
first time round (I just put a message on the forum as a bit of a test first to
get some feedback). Some of the bloggers on the list had guest posted for us in
the past, so their details were already up on the site. I'll get emailing or
messaging the other members this week, so we can make sure that we've got as
many Yakezie members as possible on board.
I do work for an advertising agency that works with personal finance clients
but this list isn't anything to do with advertising. It's part of a (long term)
aim to help people in the UK by building up a blogging platform of really
useful, helpful finance advice.
Personal finance sites are very very few and far between in the UK.
Seriously- it's crazy. We think there are probably in total around about 25
personal finance blogs in the UK at the moment; some of which are super small.
We figured a 'directory' of top blogs, where people can find helpful, relevant
nuggets of information would be so useful and we couldn't think of a better way
of doing that than putting the expertise of the Yakezie network in front of a
British readership. More importantly, us bloggers at TotallyMoney love blogging
and being part of a community of other bloggers. The Yakezie network is
absolutely brilliant and being part of it is so special. We really wanted to give
something back to the network and figured this would be a great way to do it! I
guess this list seemed to kill two birds with one stone, as it were.

Ok guys. Thanks so much for all of your feedback! So so useful. There are a few buggy bits and pieces at the moment, which are being tackled right now. In the meantime a few words to the wise…
1. Verification emails are being sent to your spam folders, but don't worry! I can verify your account manually. If in doubt check out your spam folder!
2. The data doesn't update immediately every time a new user registers, so it'll look like you have 0 scores for a little while. Don't worry the data will get updated soon!
3. At the moment, there's no way of telling if a blog is a member of the Yakezie network. Don't worry- this feature should be on it's way.
4. The RSS/feed reader is a little bit shaky and sometimes doesn’t find your latest post. Trying to make this a bit more robust at the moment!
5. Technorati numbers are looking a little weird(!) on the lookout for a potential replacement if they don't buck their ideas up!
