Ok guys. Thanks so much for all of your feedback! So so useful. There are a few buggy bits and pieces at the moment, which are being tackled right now. In the meantime a few words to the wise…

1. Verification emails are being sent to your spam folders, but don't worry! I can verify your account manually. If in doubt check out your spam folder!

2. The data doesn't update immediately every time a new user registers, so it'll look like you have 0 scores for a little while. Don't worry the data will get updated soon!

3. At the moment, there's no way of telling if a blog is a member of the Yakezie network. Don't worry- this feature should be on it's way.

4. The RSS/feed reader is a little bit shaky and sometimes doesn’t find your latest post. Trying to make this a bit more robust at the moment!

5. Technorati numbers are looking a little weird(!) on the lookout for a potential replacement if they don't buck their ideas up!

If there are any other niggles, please do let me know. Thanks so much,

Harri

Harri,

I looked in my spam folder and did not see verification.

Harri – seems like a very interesting tool, but I never got the verification email when I registered.  Interested, though.

We have the official list here: http://yakezie.com/personal-fi…..-blogs/.  How do you plan to make sure the people on the list are part of the Network?  There are several names on the list that are not part of the Network.  We really need to try and keep things consistent

I'm wondering about this as well. Is this for Yakezie challengers and members? Are you checking to determine if they're spam blogs using the Yakezie badge to gain more authority/access to community members? I haven't seen those on your site, but they're around here and will probably start signing up there as they're signing up on the challenger and member post!

Harri, please make sure the list you are building is consistent with the main Yakezie Network list.

Also, please share with us whether this project is entirely your own effort, or whether it is being created and paid for by your advertisement agency. If your advertisement agency is building this list and this is not a personal project, please consult with me on the phone because we have a system set up already for Members and are in the process of building a customized tool.

We've spent almost two years building this Network from the ground up & it is imperative there is no dilution of our brand and compromise of our Network in general. We have encountered numerous people who have joined the Challenge who ultimately have ulterior motives, so we need to safeguard our Network. You wouldn't believe how many unscrupulous encounters we've had over the years! Once Challengers get to the Members stage, it will become more clear.

Thanks for understanding and addressing the questions. We sincerely hope all is for the best!

Cheers,

Sam

Yes of course Sam!

I do work for an advertising agency who works with personal finance clients, so I can COMPLETELY understand some eyebrows raising here. Please please trust me (as hard as this might be to do) but this list is nothing to do with advertising, clients, or even or for that matter, revenue generation. If there is a 'subversive' aim to speak of, it's building up our readership.

As I’ve said before, we love being part of a blogging community, we want to help out our fellow challengers and fully-fledged members, we’re aware that there is a real dearth of valuable and useful personal finance information in the UK and we’d like to increase our readership whilst heightening the visibility of a network we enjoy being part of. So in essence our ‘end game’ (as it were) is the following: make the most of our expertise to help out other bloggers, build a useful directory of helpful sites for UK consumers, build up awareness of our site and readership whilst simultaneously promoting the Yakezie Network to a British audience. This is all about working with Yakezie. It most certainly is not a way of subverting the network or trying to rival it at all.

Thanks so much for the link to the member/challenger list. We’re in the process of adding in a feature which means that
people will have to select whether they’re a Yakezie challenger/member when they register. We can independently verify our list against the official members/challenger list to make sure nobody’s cashing in on the network. There are some non-members there at the moment, purely because they signed up to guest post on our site a little while back and the site can't differentiate them from Yakezie network members at the moment. That's all about to change.

I hope that clears a few things up. Please, please ask more questions that you have on this!

On a separate note, as I mentioned to Sam in an email, I'm based in the UK and I'd love to meet up with any fellow Yakezie bloggers if you ever venture this way. Please drop me a line if you find yourself on the otherside of the Atlantic!

Harri

This seems like a good tool. I really love the format and design of the table. I will let you know if I find any performance issues or bugs, and if I can think of ways to improve the rankings.

It would be nice of the columns were sortable or were pre-sorted on overall rank and not alphabetical.

That's very interesting. The columns are sortable in Google Chrome but it turns out they're not in some other browsers. What browser do you use? I'll crack on and get that sorted.

Ah yes had a couple of difficulties there. Sometimes the feed doesn't get picked up, which is a little weird. Thanks for flagging this up! Job for today, I think!

3.6.18 at work but it doesn't seem to matter what version I use.
