I'm on the list (hanging by a thread!). I noticed that my latest blog post is not showing up – wondering whats going on with that?
3.6.18 at work but it doesn't seem to matter what version I use.
Thanks so much for letting me know!

looks like a great tool. I'm without a home now as I travel across the US to a new home. I'll register when I get settled :)

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing. I stayed the same here and in the Wisebread list.

Thanks guys for flagging this up. So the PR Ranking updates automatically once a week, which is why nothing would have happened when you checked it originally. However, we've just updated it manually, so your score should have changed now. Please let me know if things are still looking a bit odd!

I should also mention that clicking on the arrows within the four major columns expands the columns to reveal the specific metrics. If you click on the pink arrow next to 'Site strength' you'll be able to see your Google rank in there.

I tried to sign up but never got the confirmation email. Also tried to have my password emailed to me, and didn't get that either.

Why would anyone use this tool? This is just a ridiculous way to get a link back from all yakezie members?!
STICK WITH OUR RANKING SYSTEM.
Anyone know why Harri doesn't have the badge on her homepage? Which is totallmoney NOT totallymoney.com/blog? Even then it is not on the blog site – it is just a link at the bottom shoved down there. If your ranking system is so great why not be prominent with it.
On top of all that why do I need to register? If you want to rank me, go a head and rank me lol
This is just a new version of the same old scam – "You won a top 50 awesomest blogs all you have to do is put up this widget (i.e. text link hidden behind a nice picture)"

Hmmm….I know Sam was checking them out and questioning their practices. But a lot of us have signed up. I thought it was harmless?

I have misgivings about this too.
I worry about this diluting our brand by including anyone who says they're Yakezie with no differentiation between member and challenger, whether they're following the rules of Yakezie or not. It has the potential to include ad/corporate blogs with the Yakezie name, which are becoming a problem in the forum. This is being run by a challenger who may not understand the background of these issues or how to spot the kind of blog the group doesn't want to be associated with.
The challenger list is just too fluid to use for a tool like this and call it Yakezie. Even the "official challenger list" that I created is constantly in update as challengers appear and disappear. I've repeatedly edited to remove ad blogs/commercial blogs from the challenger list. Is someone going to go through each blog routinely and make sure they're meeting Yakezie standards, participating, displaying the badge (unlikely as this site doesn't display it!), and aren't a cleverly disguised ad? So far it hasn't happened.
I also find the site it's housed on to be the type of site I would decline for an ad link because it is selling loans, front and center on its homepage. Many of us do not want to be connected to payday loan sites and I do not want my information to be associated with a site running this type of business. I definitely don't want to be giving free links to a loan site!
I know Sam is working on some huge backend things here, and I don't want an outside group stepping on toes and taking on something that should stay in network. This is not a tool that should be run by someone who hasn't met the challenge yet, simply because they don't know the other side of the discussion happening in the member area about what constitutes a legitimate challenger, concerns with corporate blogs, and the backend projects in progress.
It especially shouldn't be run by an advertising company, completely blurring the corporate line!

Working off what MJTM was saying, if you look at the badge on the blog site it doesn't even point to yakezie.com. It points to a forum post. Huh?
I'm also a bit confused as to why I would have to register?

MJTM is right. We should stick with the official Yakezie ranking system. I'm not a member yet so I'm not on the official list yet but I plan to keep working hard so I can get there. The more I've thought about this the more I don't like what Totally Money is doing. If I'd known about the badge thing earlier I don't think I would have signed up. I'm going to request to be removed. The official list on Yakezie is where the focus should stay.

Hi,
I work with
Harriet at TotallyMoney. Harriet asked me to keep an eye on this post to see if
anybody was having any troubles with the list that I might be able to fix while
she is away. Looks like there have been more than a few issues :).
It isn’t really
my area of expertise, but I will see if I can address some of your concerns.
We wanted to
build an improved version of the Wisebread that could be a more useful list. I
really like what Wisebread’s list offered but I thought it could be improved as
I didn’t think it updated often enough or gave you enough searching options. I
thought that the list was very comprehensive, but it could be made more useful
by offering more searching options, so you could compare your site with other sites
writing about the same thing, from the same country or who started at the same
time.
About the time
we were ready to launch we joined the Yakezie challenge and thought that this
would be really useful for all of you, however we didn’t realise that you
already have your own list which is already very useful for you. We talked to
Sam about this and agreed that it was confusing to have both and changed the
way we talked about it. We still wanted it to be useful for you, so we added
the option of comparing yourself against Yakezie challengers. It is open to
everyone and I hope it is useful for everyone.
We hoped to use
this to both get links to our website and as a way of promoting our site to the
personal finance community. It would be great if you did link to us, but that
is only part of the reason. We link out several times to every website that is
listed and in the future we hope to be able to send lots of traffic as well.
The reason that
our list has been shoved at the bottom of the page is we are not completely happy
with it and was hoping to use this thread to iron out all the bugs that we had.
We don’t think that it is ready for a proper release yet. We still have lots of
issues with verification emails and minor bugs with updating, also we have no
idea if it will break as more people join up. Part of the idea of this post was
to get you all to help us improve what we have. A lot of things have been fixed
because of this thread and we hope to use your feedback to improve it further
and add better functionality, so that it stops being one list among many and becomes
the best one out there.
We need you to
register, because of the way it was built. It seemed to make sense to build it
within wordpress as that seemed the easier decision. It also means you can log
in to change your details if your site ever changes.
I agree with the
dilution of the Yakezie brand and we have changed things to make the difference
more clear. Seemed to make sense when we started, but looking at it now it just
made things more confusing. One problem we have is although being able to sort
between Yakezie Members, Challengers’ and other blogs is useful, but it doesn’t
require any verification. At the moment all blogs are checked by hand on
registration a checked against your list, but it isn’t a great solution. If
anyone has any suggestions on how to improve this then I would love to hear
them.
So to sum up. We are trying to build something useful for personal finance
bloggers and would like to use your feedback to improve it.
Let me know if
you have any questions or if you have any feedback about the list that could be
useful.
I will be popping into this thread fire fighting until Harriet gets back next
week. I will be better at answering technical questions, but I will try my best
at anything else you have got.
Henry.
P.S is it possible to change the name of this thread to remove the reference to Yakezie members. It will only get more confusing

Sorry about the formatting, I copied the post from Word (my terrible spelling) and something seemed to have messed up.

You probably don't need to involve Yakezie in this list. I don't really see Yakezie adds value to it and vice versa.
I like the list in general and it's nice to get a little exposure in the UK. You should keep adding more blogs and just remove any mentions of Yakezie.
I see many blogs has technorati authority at 0. I don't think it got updated properly.

Thanks Joe,
We will definitely move away from mentioning Yakezie in the future. I think it is helpful to be able to search by membership because that would also be useful. I think if we we add other blogging networks as well it will move us further away from Yakezie.
At the moment this thread is pretty much the only way someone would find the list and I want to get all the feedback before letting it go any further
The Technorati rank is a problem and we might get rid of it. If someone hasn't claimed their blog on Technorati then it shows up as a 0. This along with not everyone having a feedburner account makes the 'blog influence' column pretty weak in comparison to the rest. I am trying to see if this can be improved.
Thanks.
Henry
