I think I'll stick to waiting util I have like 115 or so. that way i can (most likely) stay in the triple digits.
Thanks for all the feedback!

Good luck! Follow up on this thread and let us know how long until your counter goes 'live'!

Good luck, Jake, and I think you're making a good decision. Look forward to that triple digit counter soon!

I agree with those that said triple digits. I know that it is illogical, but a lot of times we do judge the value of a site based on how many other people think it provides value.

I put mine up at 48. Why not, embrace it right?
One trick with mine… I too hate the 'weekend effect', so I wrote code to grab the last 7 days, average them, and put up that number. If you want to mess with php, let me know and I'll mail it to you.

I'll let you know. I like that idea, so it doesn't fluctuate so much!
Thanks! :)

I personally would wait. While there is nothing to be ashamed of, you need to convince people that it's worth subscribing to. Showing 4 current subscribers isn't going to display a lot of confidence in your readers.
Going off of one thing from FinCon, don't forget that your readers aren't other PF bloggers. Well, as many of us know, it's a part of them, but that shouldn't be our focus.
This is exactly why we don't have our feedburner number up on our site. While it is slowly growing, I feel like it could make us look less legitimate to potential readers.

Here's one thing to keep in mind, look at your smaller subscriber base as an opportunity. If I go to a site and see a counter with 1,928 subscribers I can be assured that if I subscribe and start commenting, I'm probably not going to really get noticed nor am I going to have much chance of building a personal relationship. You might have low subscribers and a low reader count, but you can bring those people in, interact with them, build them as your foundation to interacting with your personal blogger community. As you grow, so will your reputation of being a voice that listens, responds, and is someone that others want to hear.
Let's face it, by the time most get to that 1,928 number, the blogger already has their 'favorites', their 'friends' and their dedicated 'followers'. Flip that around and take the opportunity to build those things for your blog from the ground up.
I'm not saying this as a way to encourage you to publish a low number, but kind of tying it into what I'm reading here where it seems that people believe that people won't want to read a blog if you don't have a bunch of readers already established. That's not always the case, and I'd encourage you not to just skip over the part where you build your base from scratch. It can be a really cool time.

Might as well put it up. Everyone is showing a zero so you'll fit right in. :-)

Basically, even though my 7 day average got stuck on a lower number, I'm leading the rest of the internet 195 to 0. That makes DQYDJ more popular than every other blog on Feedburner!
Sure you don't want the script? Haha.

Nice! I will get that script from you, but since I'm at like 8 subscribers, I won't be needing it for a while. I WILL hit you up when I'm over 100, though.
Edit: Correction, 10 subscribers. WOOHOO!!!!
