I have a post coming up this Sunday (a little late I know, but I got back late Tuesday night and I am traveling again for business until Friday. So all my thoughts are in the notebook :) ).
I am probably one of the high spenders I guess because my husband attended the conference too (though that was the best investment every :) ) I spent $500 on airfare, $330 on hotel (3 days + taxes + wifi + one day breakfast billed to room), $180 on rental car. We didn't spend much on food but at the end of the conference I was starving. Because there was not much vegetarian item (the rice had chicken stock!) and I didn't have time to go out to eat. So I lived on muffins, cookies and coke.
My favorite part of the conference was meeting everyone. Crystal, Kris, Jesse and so many other people I have been interacting, reading… they all felt like I have known them for years. But still a little part was missing not actually seeing them. Now that I have seen them it felt like a reunion of great friends who have not seen for quite sometime.
Before I went to the conference I challenged myself to get out of my introvert comfort zone and talk to people. If I was alone I might have forgotten my challenge because it was really overwhelming for me. Having my husband there was a great use & annoyance in this case. He kept reminding me how I would regret if I didn't get out and talk to people. So he pushed me like I have never pushed myself. And it paid off. I renewed my friendship (now I feel even closer to people I have already considered my close friends) and made new friendships.
I missed the yakezie pizza party. By the time I came down there was no one in the lobby so I thought it was off :) I did go to the dance party. And that was a good decision too, I talked to Ben and then Kevin for quite some time.
All in all a great conference. I would buy the ticket for the next one right this minute.
