Very nice setup, I like the logo as well.

Thanks for the feedback!  Feel free to be critical if there's something you don't like.  The color scheme I actually copied from my favorite sports team, the Vancouver Canucks.

I wish I had the design skills to do my own designs.  This design & logo was done by a friend of mine as a favor.  I used to attempt to do everything myself, but sometimes that is just wasting your time.  A while back I figured out that if you can't do something competently yourself, you can outsource it without spending a lot.  It frees up your own time and produces a better result.

I'll try to pass on some knowledge on this forum.  I'm still learning the ropes of marketing a blog as my marketing experience has been with e-commerce and affiliate websites.  It looks like you're off to a decent start on your blog though.  I think it's mostly a matter of staying consistent with new posts and new links.  Try to make a point of getting links to each of your posts and social media exposure where possible.  Google traffic is great, but for stability, you want a wide variety of traffic sources.  That way it won't matter as much if Google changes their algorithm or if you lose rankings.

Thanks for the offer Jai.  I think I will have to run with what I've got for now.  Maybe later when I know the current designer isn't checking back I will consider an upgrade.  I don't want to hurt his feelings :)

I think posting between 3-5 times per week is sufficient to start. You dont want to suffer from burnout and your postings will clearly show that when you are starving for topics just to have something to write about.  Great site, it looks really nice.  I like the logo as others mentioned.
