Are any of you experiencing an issue with your feed count once a week? It seems that for the last two or three weeks I have one day a week where my number literally drops by 50%. Then the next day it is back to is regular range. Any idea what is going on? Is feedburner just having a moment?
I am just curious if any of you have been experiencing the same thing.

FB is like that. You can't do anything. I think it actually shows the feed requested, meaning how many people really read that feed + if you commented more using commentluv, that is a feed request… The more subscribers you have the less noticeable it becomes. For me with less # of subscribers it really bothers me if 100 people subscribe in a single day, but it is not like that. Don't pay attention to it is all I can say :)

I haven't had that big of a drop, but I've seen it from others before. Feedburner normally varies by at least 5%, so I wouldn't worry about that, but 50%? That sounds a little too crazy.

This has been happening for years. I don't even display mine anymore.

I've had problems like that too – just seems to be some type of "thing" that happens on Feedburner. I've learned to ignore it too

My counts are always all over the place. I have no idea what to believe.
Also all over the place are my Google Analytical counts lately. They are sometimes half of the counts I get from the Blogger dashboard (which I am pretty sure is accurate based on some unscientific tests I have done). I think I need to experiment with the placement of my Analytics code on my page as I think it may be loading too late and, hnce, some quick visits don't even get counted.

Thanks for the input everyone. I do know it isn't the most reliable but I had just noticed this one day a week thing recently. I won't pay too much attention to it based on your responses. Thanks for taking away something for me to stress over.

Yeah, it's been doing that to me ever since I started out using it. I think Suba's explanation is best, so I would say, don't pay too much attention to it.

Yah the day after you post it will be higher than after a day of nothing.
I wouldn't worry about it. Like many other parts of blogging, it's a nice to have, but doesn't actually improve income or the product very much, so I would definitely focus on other things first.

It is so unreliable that I do not even look at it consistently anymore.

Mine usually drops about 50% of my subscribers once every week or two. It's annoying. I think when you go into the tool you can get an average over a period of time. That's more useful than looking at a day by day since it flucuates so much.

We see a drop every month or so but it corrects within a day or 2.
Forthe longest time we weren't getting correct readings but a plugin solved that.
I don't sweat it much but I sure do look forward to seeing the ticker go past 400

I try not to sweat it too much either but like you I like seeing that number increase.

It hasn't happened recently with my blog but for a while it was happening regularly. Very annoying.
I posted about this in the feedburner group and heard crickets.

My feedburner count halved, about a week after my 100th post promotion. I was a little shocked to think so many people had signed on for the promotion, and then took the time to unsubscribe. But, I checked again yesterday and the numbers are back to where they were. It must be a feedburner problem. My subscriber chart shows that this has happened 3 times in the last month.

Seems like Feedburner just has a mind of it's own. Like others have said, it is best for us to ignore it.
