Hi everyone, I've been noticing some inconsistencies with my feedburner account. I recently transferred over from blogger to wordpress and unfortunately couldn't transfer my subscribers. I transferred my new url to feedburner and noticed a few days later that I had 3 subscribers. I checked the next day and I had 0. A few days after that it went back to 3 and now it's showing 0.
Does anyone know why this is happening? At first I thought maybe people were subscribing and then decided to unsubscribe, but now I am thinking that's not the case.

That happens with me, too. I've been told it's normal for the numbers to fluctuate a bit – and they do, from day to day. Only by a few though! Dont' worry!

I only post on Mon Wed Fri and on Tues Thurs my numbers go down. I think the feedburner number is the number of people who viewed your feed the prior day. If some read every day and you don't post one day then they probably aren't counted as a subscriber the next day. That is my guess from my limited time using it. I'm guessing once you get about 100 the number fluctuations won't bother you much anymore :).

Thanks for the clarification because I was a bit confused.

Mine is all messed up. I switched from blogger to wordpress and everything went very smoothly but for some reason my feedburner stats cut in half. Annoying but we've tried whatever we can think of to fix it.

Feedburner subscriber numbers are pretty useless as a metric. They only count when your feed is 'requested'.

During my migration, I loss about 20% of my subscribers. After feed redirects, I was still down by 8%. I don't know why that happened, but it's water under the bridge now. Good luck!

Thanks for the responses everyone! I'll just keep an eye on it and focus more on providing great content more than anything else.

If you had Feedburner at the start, you shouldn't have lost anyone. Just go into Feedburner and add the new feed URL or add a Feedburner friendly theme or plugin.
The subscriber count does fluctuate dramatically and I hardly ever look at it anymore.

I agree with Eric. It swings very wildly, I'll still have days where it goes to zero and then bounces back over 300. If I check it once a month nowadays, that's more than enough.

I did add my new URL and it went to 0.

Thanks, I think I'll check it less frequently.
