I submitted an essay and was chosen as a finalist for a $10,000 scholarship geared to bloggers yesterday- yay! Too bad the polls have been open for 12 hours and someone already has 1200 votes- cr*p.
I'm looking for a Yakezian Miracle- I need people to click my name (hi, I'm Shannyn) to vote and I need your help to promote it (if possible) or ideas of where/how I could promote this to be able to stand a chance.
Here's the link to vote: http://www.collegescholarships…..holarship/
I realize I'm asking for a lot of help with tweeting, blogging or facebooking this link but any help you can provide would be tremendously appreciated. Like…really. This would be a miracle. Miracles are cool…especially miracles that can be spread online. Yowza.
If you'd like to read the essay- it's here.
Again, really- thanks. :)

Hey y'all, thank you so much for the kind support! This was announced Tuesday evening and some "bloggers" with page ranks of 6mil on Alexa and like 9 RSS subscribers had hundreds of votes within hours.
I reported this to the website and they said that they "do count the IP address" and also "add cookies" so fraudulent voting isn't possible. Funny story, you can clear out your cache and vote again, and again, and again. Hmm, perhaps that's why some of these "bloggers" have nearly 3,000 votes in under 24 hours (with blogs similar or newer than mine).
I emailed the company about it and still haven't heard back, most likely I'll be pulling my nomination and reporting that this contest is "in on it" and totally a fraud. I'm so angry and disappointed- I know there are several other real bloggers trying for this as well and are in the same boat- it's so sad, last year's contest seemed legitimate.
Again, thanks for the support. I will look for scholarship money to finish my degree elsewhere- bruised pride and all. Thanks guys.

you would be amazed to learn that from one single machine you can use proxy IPs to generate spam comments. Similarly the winning blogger might have hired one of these guys. $10k is too much to spend couple hundred dollars.
I would say take it as a motivation to beat those student bloggers with your blog income. All the best! and sorry for you.

Sorry to hear that. I wondered who these people were that they could generate 3,000 votes in 12 hours.
