Hi! I am curious if a location has been decided yet for the conference. I am just looking at hotels now and trying to find a good deal (staying 'downtown' is likely not an option for me). I'm going to try to find an outlaying area – maybe by one of the airports – that has good train access to wherever the conference ends up.

No location, yet that I've heard. If you can get by on the the train/bus combo, getting around Chicago is a breeze.
I'll be driving, because I can't find a flight that beats gas + parking from Minneapolis.

I have used the trains in Chicago in the past to get around, but never the bus. One of the things I love about visiting larger cities is the ease of using public transportation. Since I will not have access to a car during the day, I am hoping the venue is relatively close to a bus and/or train route.

The T-shirt is almost reason enough to fly in from Papua New Guinea – ALMOST. I guess I'm going to miss out.
BTW, if you are concerned about hotel or airfare costs you can easily sign up for two credit cards MAX and get enough hotel and flight points to cover the trip.
