We're out.  Mrs. SPF is due on Oct 4th so the timing just doesn't work.

Already blaming things on the kid!  Tsk, tsk.

Just kidding.

Family first, always!  You will more than have your hands full with a newborn on the way.  Now we just have to make sure Phil can find a place next year that's kid friendly (ooh, a Disney/Cruise/Financial Blogger Conference!).

I think it is also cost prohibitive the more I think about it. Flying out of Toronto is one of the most expensive places to fly out of … for 2 of us, then a few nights in hotels and a lot of dining expenses + entertainment (all doubled), well, we'd have to start making big bucks from our blog to cover such an extravagant weekend!  (For a few hundred more we could spend a week in Cuba at an all inclusive ;) )

I suggest Vegas for the next one. It's one of the cheapest places in the country to fly to and depending on the time of year, rooms and conference space can be very affordable.

Although I would say that a cruise sounds awesome. I could write that off as a blog business expense, right?

I bought a ticket!  I'm still not sure if I'll be able to make it, but I figure if nothing else, I'll hold a giveaway to try and give my ticket away if I can't make it.  I've got to work out some work issues to try and get there, but I'm hoping that I'll be able to skip them that weekend.  I've only missed one other time in 7 years, so hopefully I've got a bit of credit coming as far as that goes.

Looking forward to more details and such.

I'm in for this one. I have friends who live in Wrigleyville so I won't need a hotel. Next time, however, you should do it in Dallas. It's a convenient, middle of the country location like Chicago, only with better weather and football :)

Yes, it has football.  But, better football?  I don't know about that. ;)  Absolutely on the better weather though.

The more of my friends sign up to this the more excited I get about attending. My only issue is that I was planning a Euro-trip with a friend for late summer, but I will work that out. This is a rare opportunity to meet all of the people that I chat with on a daily basis.

The flight from Toronto is going to be around $450. I'm just wondering about the hotel rates. I imagine that they will be expensive. I'm hoping that there will be an opportunity for solo travelers to join up to save some $$$.

Surprisingly, I can fly for about $200. This is looking like it's going to happen more and more. Hopefully the hotel rates are good!

If you're picking based on weather, than my home city will win every timeLaugh

I saw the list of speakers and squealed like a little kid. My husband asked what I was so excited about and I had to explain who Pat and J.D. and Baker are. He obviously isn't a reader of personal finance blogs, but he's excited that I'm excited, haha!

I'm in, and I'm ready to start planning, but a location needs to be decided before I get a hotel room. I'm trying to avoid renting a car so I vote for something near public transit!

Haha I experienced a similar situation with my girlfriend.  If only they knew…

I am really excited to see Baker on the speaker's list.  He is one of my blogger inspirations.

I am also excited to see all the the participants who have signed up.  There are so many of you who I am excited to meet in person.  I sort of feel like a kid who is counting down the days until their birthday or Christmas!  :)

I finally decided I would come today. Got the last super early bird ticket! Chicago is about a 7-hour drive for me, but I like road trips.

I'm definitely interested in a hotel room discussion… I get too bored in a room by myself!
