My husband is not a blogger… but I would like for him to go… should I get him a conference ticket? Or not? Suggestions welcome :)
Mr. BFS is being left at home by choice. He just wouldn't enjoy it and that would bring me down. He's reffing a varsity football game that Friday anyway.
I say come stag and get your pf geek on! I'm already just looking forward to the sleepover I am having while I am there with my close buddies Suba and Kay Lynn – we are going to exhaust ourselves talking instead of sleeping and I am looking forward to every minute!!!

Would he enjoy sitting through blogging/PF conference sessions with you?
I guess I would have to ask him! LOL! Really…. I don't think so. But he could find outdoorsy stuff to do.

Unless you're husband is a geek like the rest of us, he might not enjoy it. My husband would be bored stiff during the sessions and the social activities. I wouldn't enjoy the conference if he came worrying about his enjoyment.
You should get the most out of the experience including networking outside of sessions. People that had outside friends and families can't take advantage as much.

Last year my fiancee (then girlfriend) went and hung out with some of our friends in the area while I was at the conference, as we had not seen them in a while – this year, she may do the same thing, though I'm thinking of getting her a ticket as well (I dont want to get her one if she's not going to use it – that will annoy me), so she may just hang out with friends in denver while I'm at the conference this year as well.
You could convince him to go and make a vacation out of it – just hang out with him after the conference is over and he can see denver during the day.
We don't have friends in Denver. If he does go…. he probably would do outdoorsy stuff.

While I'm waiting to hear back about time off from work *cough, sniffle* is anyone interested or looking to do some cost sharing? I'd love to practice "frugality" if it works!

Unless some substantial windfall (or a sponsorship) comes my way before the tickets sell out, I won't be attending the conference itself. But I do plan on driving down one night for the after-hours party!

I'm looking for editors, beta-readers, and some demographic research for my upcoming novel, Once Upon a Saturn Moon. If you like reading soft sci-fi thrillers, maybe with a touch of romance thrown in, you can find more information at http://seampublishing.com/once…..aturn-moon

I wish that I could come to FinCon this year! But traveling from Australia is pricey, and the conference doesn't coincide with my other trips to the States in 2012.
In case it's helpful for anyone, I did a guest post on giving conference talks: http://www.financialbloggerconference.com/how-to-give-a-conference-presentation/
I look forward to following the backchannel on Twitter!

Don't feel bad, coming from Thailand is quite expensive as well so looks like I'll have to stay here. Maybe FINCON13 in Bangkok next year?

At a get-together the other night, several of us (meaning me) decided that FINCON13 will be in Bali. Or worst case, in the Maldives. I've yet to inform Phil of this.

Bali or the Maldives works well for me. Right in my neck of the woods so to speak. You should let Phil know ASAP. And if he doesn't like those choices you can always use Thailand as a fall back. Might I suggest Koh Lipe as a quieter and more scenic option than the normal tourist traps of Phuket and Samui?

This conference is going to be great. I hope I can go as well.
I'll have permanent marker my calendar only because I have white out on hand as well. Hopefully we'll all be there!

Since San Diego lost out this year due to higher hotel costs than Denver, I don't think budget conscious PF bloggers would go for international airfare.

I read several places that Fincon 11 sold out well in advance of the conference.
Did they expand the capacity this year?
Any suggestions on when things might sell out this year?
My job situation is in a bit of flux right now, so I can't commit to anything.
But everything from everything I have read, I am pretty sure the conference would be an amazing experience.
Would love it if either me or Michelle could make it this year.

OK, it is official. We (John and I) won't be able to come to Denver because our son is starting high school at the same time. I have managed to miss many 'mummy' things with my work trips and have the feeling that this one should not be missed.
I so much regret not being able to come and meet you, people, in person. May be 2013?
