As far as anonymity goes, I am not against it or for it. I just decided that I didn't mind handing my name over to anybody who wants a business card. I'm not going to have an announcement ceremony or anything…just not going to try to keep it under wraps anymore either. Plus, if I ever do write an eBook or actual book, I want to see my name on the cover, lol.
I will be promoting Crystal-For-Hire Blogging Services though…I like the way it sounds.

I'm so excited about the conference. I think it will be a total blogging/finance nerdfest and I mean that in a good way. :-)
It's a tiny bit out of my comfort zone. I'm not painfully shy or anything, but mingling with a lot of people I don't know is kind of exhausting to me. Any other introverts out there?
Still, it's going to be awesome and my husband is flying up on Sunday so we can have a couple of days in the city together.
P.S. I also gave up on anonymity. Like Crystal, I've decided to make blogging about personal finance my thing, so I'm using my real name. I totally get why people choose not to, though.

Yeah, same here. But you know what? I've met some other PF bloggers in the past year and they have all been great. Honestly, the PF realm is awesome in how we're friendly and helpful towards each other.

Oh, jeez, yes. 78% by the Meiers-Briggs test, I think. I'm not shy, but I'm not much good at small talk. Get me talking about something I care about, though, and you'll have a tough time shutting me up.

Maybe all us introverts can put little "i's" on our name tags or something so we can find each other. :-)

I feel like I "know" most people already so it's different than going to a conference where you don't have relationships with the other attendees. Just think how much we know about each other from what's revealed on our blogs and other social media.

Exactly! I personally think that I already know at least a handful of bloggers well enough to think of them as friends, so this conference is just a way to shake their hand or give them a hug for all of their help.

I think I am one level lower than an introvert (if there is something like that), may even be socially challenged :) If I can hide under a rock I would :) But I know it doesn't work like that so I try to make myself talk. I mean I seriously try, I have taken toastmasters and "try" to chat up more, but I have a long ways to go

Oh and to Eric's comment about the anonymity, without knowing the other person well (including what their spouses are doing) we can't really judge whether anonymity is good or no necessary for someone. Sam might be in a career/level, but so can a lot of other people, right? We just don't know enough about them to know what their career is?

I'm not an introvert, and am more likely to talk your ear off than to say too little. There are definitely bloggers that I'm excited to meet, having formed internet-friendships with them. I'm going to say it from behind my pseudonym, though. :)
What conference topics or speakers are you looking forward to the most?

I voted for a ton of advertising, passive income, and building traffic topics. I'm the least interested in social media topics (Facebook, Twitter, newsletters, etc.) since I personally don't care for them much.

I just got a message from PayPal saying that my tickets are being refunded. Did this happen to anyone else? Anyone know what's going on?

Good point Suba. I shouldn't be so quick to judge others. I just think the whole thing is silly unless you have serious implications. I used to just go by "Eric" and still do for the most part, but I don't hide my last name anymore and you can find it easily by going to my personal blog. (It is in the URL)
I am a huge proponent of transparency in the PF blogging world. If people don't know me and can't tell that I am being open an honest, why should they trust me?
Also, I am following the lead of bloggers I aspire to be like. I know the names of Darren Rowese, Chris Gillebeau, Chris Brogan, etc. If they are successful and share their names, I will follow their example.

I'm always done for any kind of party lol. It's going to be funny when you're introduced to someone and you say, "oh I remember that post you wrote," or "I love the comments you post on my blog."
