Is anyone still looking for a hotel-mate for this conference? I just purchased my ticket last week and am working on airfare and lodging right now.

Oh, how happy I am to hear that others who are shy and introverted will be attending. This conference is one of my social nightmares and is so far outside my comfort zone that I have anxiety just thinking about it. I am terrible at meeting new people (wait, should I be admitting that?). I think the fact that I feel like a fraud amongst all of you amazing bloggers is adding to my apprehensiveness and anxiety.
Having that confession out of the way, I'm superexcited to attend and meet everyone! About 32 days to go!

You posted on the "male" tab so I moved you. I have someone who *said* she wanted to room with me but I haven't heard from her since including her actual name and number. :) I'll dig her up and see if she still wants to room. If not, perhaps we can be room mates? Letcha know.

I'm so sad to say that I will not be attending FinCon. :( I'm on modified bedrest for pregnancy complications. I may have cried about not getting the chance to meet you guys, and it may or may not have been hormones.

Oh my gosh how embarassing–I am taken back to the last day of fourth grade when I accidentally walked into the boys' bathroom and saw someone using a urinal!!!!!!!!! *red cheeks*.

My real hope is that they get some genuine Chicago Deep Dish. I've been to Chicago once, but we weren't able to get some. The only place that would deliver to where we were (suburbs) wanted almost $80 for a large after deliver charge. Broke college kids that we were, we decided on a much cheaper alternative.

Regarding a Yakezie get-together at FINCON:
The Agenda is now saying a happy hour at 5:30 Saturday, and a party at 8.
We could still do dinner.
According to the hotel website (http://www.marriott.com/hotels…..chaumburg/), there aren't a lot of restaurants in easy walking distance. I'm driving in, so distance isn't a major issue for me (or 4 of the people I decide I like the most!).
There are 2 restaurants/lounges in the hotel, but they are never very cheap.
Let's get a headcount of who's going to be there and who's interested in a get-together.

Penny I'm sorry you can't go  I was really looking forward to meeting you.
I also included my name on the roommates list so hope to hear back from someone.
Also ordering business cards and considering a custom tote bag / notebook as well. Great ideas! T-shirts could work too.
Going solo; at the time of purchasing tickets, hubby's work schedule was packed but now he'll be home alone with the dog hehe
Also got my plane tickets last week for a total of $174. Spirit Airlines via Priceline
