I'll miss the Love Drop event as I don't get in until late Friday night. I'd love to do a Yakezie meetup on Saturday.

I'm signing up for the Phil's Friends event, and a Yakezie dinner meet-up would be great.

I see two choices for a Yakezie get-together. We can do Sunday lunch, depending on when everyone is flying out, or we can do dinner/drinks after the Ally happy hour. That would almost definitely overlap with the speed networking event, but if the activity matches the name, I'd rather party with the Yakezie and get to know the people I know, rather than shuffle business cards with strangers.

My preference: Find a restaurant/bar close to the hotel with either a private room or the ability to seat 20 people together, and rock it out with all of you on Saturday.
Thoughts?

"rock it out with all of you on Saturday" sounds good to me!

I'd have to go for saturday – I've got something planned for sunday (I'm not leaving till midday monday) that has been in the works for 4 months and it's going to be a big deal, and it will take all day.
I'd love to meet up with all you yakezies and I think saturday would be fun as well – though I've got to check and see how H would feel and what she wants to do taht night.
Has anyone given any thought to try and get a yakezie table together for lunch? To find each other, should we all wear black or yellow t-shirts?!

I'm in for rocking with the Yakezie on Saturday. I'm leaving around 2 or so on Sunday so that definitely wouldn't work for me. Jeff, I hadn't thought about lunch but that's a good suggestion.

Sweet, Saturday it is. From what I can see on Google Maps, there are a ton of restaurants a mile away, but very few closer than that. The hotel doesn't have a shuttle service.
Choices are:
Hotel restaurant
Order pizza and beer and see if we can commandeer a small conference room at the hotel. :)
Walk or drive to a restaurant. I'm driving to FINCON, but I can't fit 15 people in my car, without using the luggage rack.
Within a mile of the hotel are:
New Delhi Restaurant of India, , 10-15 per entree
Shaw's Crab House, 15-25+ per
Stonewood Ale House 10-15
Maggiano's (Italian) 15-25
Seasons 52 (Fresh grill/wine bar) $15-25
Wendy's
Denny's
Gameworks (Arcade/bar)
Gaylord India Restaurant $11-30
Tokio Pub (Asian Fusion) 11-30
Bistro 231 <$10 per
Big Bowl 11-30
In the hotel are:
Bevande Lounge
BlueFire Grille (Bad reviews on Yelp)
There's more. A mile north of the hotel (where most of these restaurants are) is a mall that even has a comedy club on site. http://www.shopwoodfield.com/d…..ertainment

Better. The club serves booze. :)

And Kevin Pollak is going to be at the comedy club while we're there! He has a show at 10:15 Saturday night.

This is my vote!!!! I have no car and don't want to ride on the luggage rack! It's easy, cheap, and convenient!!!!

Pizza sounds good to me! I'm fine with the luggage rack, but I do like cheap and easy. And let's admit it, pizza is yummy. Besides, I go to comedy clubs (Laff Spot here in Houston), and you can't socialize once the show starts, which defeats the purpose for us, right?

Hey all,
Just noticed some changes to the conference agenda – looks like speed networking has been moved to Friday night and there is a party on Saturday night hosted by Ramit Sethi. We should still have plenty of time for dinner on Saturday but I thought I'd mention the change in case you guys hadn't seen it.

Good to know. I still think Saturday's going to be best for us. The agenda is clear from the Ally happy hour to Ramit's after party, and the party is at John Barleycorn's, which is farther away than any of the restaurants I was looking at.
So the plan right now is pizza, beer and begging our way into an unused meeting room. :)
