Hello everyone,

I received an email today from this person at http://www.taxcreditguide.co.uk asking if she can do a guest post at my site.  This being my first offer, I'm excite and little cautious at the same time.  I heard of many posts related to what to look for in a guest post, but never really paid attention because I was not just there yet.

Can you guys shed some light in this?  The site is bit weird and she want to write about anything within my niche and asks to add a single link.

Let me know and thanks in advance

Peter

I've only had one person ask to guest write for my site so I'm not really in a position to offer too much guidance on that front.

However, as someone who has come to really enjoy your site, I can speak from that perspective.  You have credibility with me as I really enjoy your writing and insight.  If there was a guest poster on your site, I would definitely check it out.  Seeing a site like that might lead me to view you as a little less credible.

I'm sure this is the first of many guest posting offers for you, so if I had a vote it would be for you to pass on this one… or at the very least, ask that the writer be willing to link to another site.

Don't accept guest posts from strange sites, they are just looking for a free link to their site.

These days I only accept guest posts from people I know and Yakezie challengers.

I got an email from them, too. Private advertising is a big business and there are a lot of internet marketers out there who will try to get a free link out of unsuspecting bloggers. That's exactly what they are doing. You should decide whether or not you are going to accept private advertising and set a rate, or just decline altogether.

I'm looking for editors, beta-readers, and some demographic research for my upcoming novel, Once Upon a Saturn Moon. If you like reading soft sci-fi thrillers, maybe with a touch of romance thrown in, you can find more information at http://seampublishing.com/once…..aturn-moon

Agreed. If the person wants to link to a commercial site (not a personal blog), I turn them down flat. They are taking advantage of bloggers to gain free advertising, which isn't fair at all.

I turn down fake guest posters too, they are getting paid to put those links on your site, so either you ask for a sponsorship fee or you do not publish.

I only accept guest post from fellow bloggers.

As others have said, I only take guest posts from other bloggers. I get a handful of "guest post" requests each day from sites like the one you mentioned and I usually just ignore them.

Well, if you are going to be in Windsor, Colorado today, sure… Cool
