For me, English is actually a second language, and I can "visualize" the right spelling or use of "their" vs. "there" or "affect" vs. "effect".   But I have my share of proofreading goofs.  Best thing is to go and re-read the post after you start getting comments.

I'm pretty good at English, but my spell-checker (American English) highlights words that are spelt correctly in the English dictionary…. I grew up on the English system and that's what I still use.
