For those of us who have not won the Yakezie Challenge: how do we make the new Alexa algorithm work?

Under the old algorithm, the trick to a ranking under 250,000 was to build good content that attracted lots of comments from people with the Alexa toolbar installed.

Alexa has changed its protocol by increasing the size of its global traffic panel: http://blog.alexa.com/alexa-panel-increase/

The effect is that most of us saw our rankings go way, way up. So how do we work this? Accept that there will be far fewer new Yakezie members? Pay people on Fiverr to get it up? Continue the old work, but accept that it will be a lot harder and take a lot longer?

I think the method is still the same annielogue. Write solid content and get as many eyeballs on your site as possible. Yes, it will take longer and you'll have to work harder to get your Alexa Rank down below 200k, but in the end your site will be better than it ever was before.

I saw people got fast Alexa boost by these two methods (even with not-so-good content)

1. Furious commenting drive on others' blogs, literally 100s of comment everyday

2. Weekly round up with at least 20 other blogs. Everyone you link to would pay a visit to read the context. (do rotate blogs every week for greater success)

They'd still work and will work for years to come.
