Financially Consumed has been re-designed and given a fresh new look.

I'm keen to get your feedback, complementary and critical.

Thanks,

Hunter.

Very nice! Your tagline, "uncluttered personal finance" also explains the design.  Simple, to the point, and uncluttered so that the content can shine through.

This is really, really, nitpicking, but as a general rule, I don't really like images on the left unless they're really small.  Since we read from left to right, it kinda throws me off.  Others probably have an opposite view, I don't know.

I like it.

It's clean and uncluttered. (pun intended) Laugh

I always liked the two columns themes better than the 3 columns.

I noticed the changes going up yesterday, I think they look great! I like the header too. I'm considering a site redesign as well.

Love it.

why?

- Very clean

- Sticks to Beige/Brown Color scheme (Orange as well – the coffee mug image really fits in, but that's your recent post and not a homepage image)

The few  things I would consider:

- Make the banner BG the same as your website BG, so it looks less like an image and more like a part of the website.

- add a bit of design in some areas like the left side or along/at the edge of the horizontal lines.

- The first ad on the right disrupts the flow (when I read the sidebar) from top to bottom. Put New! and Popular! above it

- I almost didn't notice the "Money Street Network" Links because it seemed to be placed in the midst of the ads.

Hope this helps!

I like the new design a lot – but it loaded a little slow.  Shave you shrunk your images down and do you use a caching plugin?

@JT – I tried to keep it uniform with the tagline. I understand the image issue. I think it's important to have a visual hook with each post. I think the posts with a pic attract more interest than without. I might experiment with the placement.

@RB4T – I like the 2 column look too. This theme has the option of 1, 2, or 3 columns. Very flexible for a free theme (Pagelines)

@FYSA – Thanks LaTisha – yesterday was a lost cause for networking and writing, but I blew-up my other theme and had to re-build…why not just go with a new theme? I did the header. If you need me to put something together I would be happy to help.

@Matt – Thanks Matt.

You know, I was there earlier today reading your post and didn't even notice the changes! Went back for another look and I really like it. It's so hard to include all the various sidebar items, subscription stuff, and links without clutter, but you've done it well.

I like it. It is a nice and clean look, I especially like the footer. I am not too keen on the background to your logo, not sure why really maybe the blurring, but apart from that it looks really nice

I like clean, plain backgrounds so it totally works for me.  I white helps the images pop and that also helps attract the eye to the image ads, so that could be a bonus as time goes on!

Hey Hunter,

Nice clean look and I'm a fan of two columns as well.  Cool favicon.  However, I may be getting spoiled by the Peter look.  Check out Sustainable Personal Finance and Retire By 40.  But I do believe they contracted out the work.

The new theme looks great. I think it is very crisp and clean. I have been contemplating doing something on my own site. I like your tagline too.

Thanks for all the feedback. I'm taking it onboard and will be making a few adjustments.

@Buck Inspire – showing my ignorance here. What is the Peter look?

I really like the clean look. Your tag line matches your design.  I'm also a fan of the two column blog with the sidebar on the right. great job!
