That's a great idea. You're kind of like a mini-Technorati! :) Good luck with the concept!

Cool idea to use Adsense as a motivator for people to write good guest posts.

In other words, you want staff writers…

Nope. Not really. I can do perfectly fine without staff writers or guest posts. I enjoy the writing process myself, and love to engage with readers. But I do believe that people who write guest posts should be rewarded for their work, other than just a simple backlink.

One of the staff writing payment models is precisely what you are doing here. A portion or all of the adsense. Perhaps the "gig" is not a permanent staff writing position but the model is the same aside from the regularity of posting.

Cool idea indeed. I hope you get some good posts out of it. Thanks for the opportunity. I myself do staff writers- I find my creative brain runs out of juice.

I really think that using AdSense will provide great motivation for the writers to give you a quality post!

This is nothing more than a staff writer, not that is a bad thing…really cool way to engage one (sort of like working commissions). Only problem that I foresee is that people will be providing posts for a blog that only has been around for 4 months (i.e. low likelihood to receive any google clicks).

This is a good idea. I've been thinking of using a similar method and making my own "eHow" type site but I've procrastinated on getting it started for a few months. I need to put that on my to do list for August.

Agreed. We starting to get good SE hits – at the 8 month mark. Still low compared to older sites but it took a long time to get great SE results and subsequent better adsense.

Interesting, I actually work with my writers on an adsense basis but we work close together and share some of the earnings with each other.
Good luck.

The big advantage I see in this model is that, since the writer is getting a cut, he/she will be more inclined to promote the article. That means more traffic for you

Yes and No. Social Media does not lead to google clicks. You can get 10,000 page views a day and if 9,900 are from SU or Twitter it is likely that you aren't really going to make all that much that day which is the reason I made my earlier comment.
