I have received quite a few page "likes" for my recent promotion, but attracting those that like my Facebook account is a mystery. I haven't spent too much time on it, but if someone has a good method, my ears are open!

I'd be interested in learning too. So far I have 47 and about half of those were from my giveaway. The rest have been about 1-3/day since the giveaway. I'm still not sure what to do on the page besides posing questions. Next time I'll do a Facebook exclusive giveaway.

The FB advertising works like this. You create an ad that will appear on the right of the screen, you probably see them all the time. You specify the audience, 18 and older, not already fans, living in Virgina, for example. You decide how much you want to spend, by setting a daily limit, or a campaign lifetime limit. I was given a $50 coupon so I set a $50 campaign limit. Your account is only charged when someone clicks on your ad. Once they are on your facebook page they may or may not LIKE you. My average cost per click is $1.30, and I have used less than $15 of the $50 that they gave me. Hopefully it will take my FB LIKES above 100, we'll see. As of this morning my ad has been exposed to 18,000 users, so it is a low click through rate for me.
@SB – not sure why they sent me the coupon. I did set up an ad a few months ago, but I didn't buy any space because it looked expensive. Maybe they are targeting people that have tinkered with the service?

Interesting, may get hold of a coupon and use it for my running site page, a niche that may get a good ctr.

Thanks Hunter. I have always wondered how well FB ads work. Might be something to look into after reading what you wrote.

Thanks Hunter! Set up my FB add and started waiting on the offer. I hope FB will try to bait me sooner like Google guys does from time to time.
