Hey all,
I'm thinking of starting a Google+ page. Is it any better than Facebook and Twitter or just about the same? I'll give it a shot anyway, but thought I'd canvas some opinions.

Based on personal experience, there's a lot less activity on G+ so it's not likely to be as useful for promotion as FB and Twitter. That being said, it can't hurt to try.

It's a different type of strategy than FB or Twitter. Personalized search is a big factor.

It's definitely a step below Facebook and Twitter, just from a sheer numbers game. I gave up on G+ simply because I just don't know many people who are active on it. However your mileage may vary, there are definitely people who reap big benefits from G+.
With any social media you've got to be willing to work to get something out of it. You're not going to get any benefits from Facebook if you don't work to build and interact with your network, the same goes for G+.

I think Google + is worth having if just for the personalized search feature that Latisha mentioned above. When people search keywords in Google, if you posted something relevant to those keywords on Google + (and the person searching is your friend on Google +) it just may pop up in the first page of results. I have this happen all the time.

I have a G+ account simply for the search benefits. I've read that the new Bing puts a greater emphasis on social media, so having a G+ account would only help your search as others have said.

For me, it can hurt. While I understand the upside, I can't imagine starting a G+ page. I'm not doing Twitter and Facebook as well as I'd like. Throwing one more half-assed strategy into my mix won't help me.
I can see myself using it, but that's well down the line.

Do you guys use anything to automatically publish your new posts to G+? Is there a good plugin or something along those lines?
