I heard about this from Pat Flynn's site and it doesn't seem to effect my main keyword all that much. "retire by 40" and "retire at 40"
Do you see any difference with your keywords?

I only tested a couple of keywords and didn't see any real change.

These changes are usualy made on high dollar, low conversion sites where webmasters throw up crap content on expensive/profitable products and look for wickedly like CPC prices for click-throughs.
Sites like eHow and wisegeek are probably going to get the book thrown at them–and they should, their content is mostly garbage.
Edit: Analytics for my sites and others in the finance space are seeing some improvement in the SERPs. I really hope Google starts tackling the garbage in the finance space; there is plenty to be targeted.

Wow, I just checked a post where I held the #2 position for the keyword, and now it's not in the top 1,000! The article also had a PR of 1 and now that's gone as well. Good thing it wasn't extremely important to me!

One of my sites got nailed pretty hard. It went from being on the front page for 3 keywords to ranging from page 5 to page 30, now.

What tools do you all use for keyword research? (Other than webmaster tools)

I use Market Samurai (affiliate link), they have a great SEO research tool and rank tracker as well.

Is there an easy way to see this with free tools? I checked in analytics and I can't tell much of a difference either way…
