Hey there everyone. I've come up with a great way to get more repeat traffic and comments. At the end of everyone of your posts, put a line that says "First 3 people on this post who comment (no spam comments) will get a free link (dofollow) to their latest blog post below."
That way people will be more inclined to comment on your site and visit frequently. Also, I expect this will build up your RSS readers, since readers who have blogs will want to be the first to know that a new post has appeared on your blog.
To see this in action, click on the following link to my latest blog post. http://www.investorzblog.com/a…..ic-bubble/

If your links are already dofollow your simply being sneaky. If the links aren't dofollow you're being fraudulent.
Either way I suspect readers won't really appreciate this kind of tactic.

It's not something I would do as it's not at all my style. However, as long as it's a genuine offer on your part and no other links are dofollow, I don't see this as being sneaky. It's an interesting idea.
Comment luv might offer incentive too, but I guess you're trying to offer incentive for people to hurry up and comment. Of course, if someone sees that they're going to be comment #4, would that dissuade them from commenting and thus have the tacitc backfire? Maybe you should have 3 random posts get the link instead, for the tacitc you're trying. Just a thought.

It is an interesting idea, but I would not do.
As far as sneaky or offer being fraud, I don't see it that way. Comments (including commentluv links) are nofollow. And He has added 3 links at the bottom of the post which he made it dofollow (hopefully). So that is in line with the offer.
As I said, personally I won't do it, but it is an interesting idea nevertheless. Whatever works for each…

My comments and CommentLuv are do follow – I picked that on purpose to help all my commenters out (Comment Luv's upgrade allows for the option with them).

fine – not sneaky or fraud – that was if he wasn't following through.
how about this then: a magnet for business spammers. Enjoy that.

You're absolutely right! That's what I should do.

@SFP Yep, that is probably true :)
Crystal I was talking about the default option is most blogs. As removing the nofollow from wordpress comment section is a chore, most people don't do that. (commentluv nofollow is a click of the button but wordpress comments are usually not, you have to install a plugin or filter via code).
