I have been kicking around the idea of starting a group site and wanted to see who was interested. I was thinking about working with 3 or 4 people to start a site. This way each person would only have to post once or twice a week. I was thinking maybe a review, ecommerce, or niche site but am open to any ideas. I want to see who might be interested. Thanks.

I'm interested but like Sandy I could only commit to 1 post a week. Also what kind of financial investment are you looking at us making towards the site?

I also could commit to one post a week and am willing to make an investment in the site if it means equal profit sharing.  I was thinking of something like this yesterday actually.  Maybe we could even get together to buy a PR2 or better site and start monetizing quickly?

I would be interested in purchasing a site that we could all profit share and contribute to.

I was thinking about buying an already existing site. If the site already has Page Rank, we could make money from it a lot sooner. I am pricing PR 3 sites. Is there any particular topic area or niche that everyone thinks would work best?

I don't have a specific topic in mind, but I don't know much about investing…

Health, wealth, and sex/love are always popular niches that are easy to monetize. A "make money online" or "guide to blogging" site would probably go over well. Depending on the niche, I'd be willing to participate.

I have a PR4 site that is not currently being used.  The site is FrugalBlogNetwork.com which I think would work well for a group blog.  I'm not looking to sell it but contact me and we could probably figure out some kind of deal.

I would be interested too, depending on the details.  I could contribute a post a week or every other week.

I would like more details but am certainly interested. It could be a great opportunity!

Here are a few things to consider:

1.) A buy-in price needs established.

2.) What happens is someone wants out of the deal at a later point?  Is there a set "sell" price or would it be up to the individual to sell their share?

3.) What happens if someone is unwilling or unable to contribute on a regular basis?

4.) Will there be a "manager" who will be the front man for the project?

I am interested as well.

Most important point in any group endeavor is to create a written agreement. I don't think it necessarily has to be written by a lawyer, but it should be quite detailed with expectations, consequences and of course financial arrangements. It's also helpful to have complimentary skills in the group; ie special competencies, investing, shopping, relationships, IT, management etc.
