Less than a month ago I created a google plus profile and added authorship to my site. In that time my search traffic has nearly tripled. I'm quickly becoming convinced that Google Plus is huge resource, worthy of more time and effort than facebook and twitter combined.
I was thinking that as a community we should all be adding each other to our respective circles. If we do that we all would appear more credible in our G search results AND it would raise the profile of this network. It seems to be a win-win.
Thoughts? Or am I missing something?

This may be a stupid question, but I recently added on my personal google+ account that I am a contributor to my website. Is that how you add authorship to your site? Or is there another process. Since you've done it so recently, I would love some pointers if you have any.
Thanks!

Lauren,
You can go here to check out your authorship:
http://www.google.com/webmaste…..#038;html=
If you type in your address it will tell you if it is working. That page also has links detailing how to set it up. The easiest way I've found is to add a link on your G+ and then use Yoast WordpressSEO to add your G+ page to your rel="author" tag.

Are you able to send me the link via a direct message?
It doesn't seem to work on here.
Thanks!

I have been slowly growing mine and it seems to be a good thing. I have added the ones that I didn't have.

Thanks Nick, does this take few days to see that authorship come alive?

If you set it up correctly you should be able to test your site immediately and have it say "Authorship is working".

When you guys do this, are you linking to your Google+ account linked to your personal gmail, or a new profile set up specifically for this purpose with your site's email? I definitely want to set this up but I'm not sure if one's a better option than the other.
