Just wanted to introduce myself. I am 21 years old, I live in Canada and have been interested in finances ever since I got my first job. Although most of the money I ended up investing I lost due to inexperience. Hopefully now I will be able to set up some good long term investments that will provide some steady returns for the next 40 years.
I have recently wanted a way to track my financial decisions. I have been quite bad with my finances the last 2 and a half years and want to turn it all around. Hopefully 2012 will be the year I will be able to change everything around.
I have been reading many of your blogs for the past few months and love how organized the blogs seem to be.
So after much deliberation I took the plunge and set up hosting and wordpress, wrote my first post and will write a new post every 2 days. I feel as though that seems fair enough.
Any suggestions from the community would be great appreciated. I imagine I will be using the search function quite a bit. I can tell by how many posts there are that any question I have has probably already been answered.
Thanks!

Welcome to Yakezie. I've been a member here for just a week now, but have already gotten a great deal of powerful information from many of the bloggers on the forum related to both personal finance and blogging. My main suggestion is to learn as much as possible, and post at least twice per week. It doesn't matter that you're not a great writer in the beginning. Just keep blogging, and your writing skills will improve. Also, read other blogs and make good comments. Visit this forum as much as possible, and ask questions. If you do these things often enough, you will improve in your blogging efforts and in your personal finances. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Welcome once again and good luck.

Thanks everyone,
I have already recieved a ton of help on this site. Once I create a little more content and get everything spic & span I will definitely be entering the challange.
Another quick question, what are people`s thoughts on backlinking without consent. Because I have already linked to a few of the blogs that I predominantly read in my sidebar. Is this a no-no, should I ask for permission, or is it generally OK to do this?
Also I was thinking that after I have blogged more and created a little more content. Explaining my backstory and such. Would it be ok to start reviewing articles that I found interesting on my blog? I have stated that I will not be giving any financial advice on my site because I am no expert, unlike many of you who have financial degrees or have been doing it for years (Not an old joke). Nonetheless I do have my opinions and I would love to share what I think about some posts. I will definitely be asking the respective blog owners about this one. I feel this would help my readers understand how I think better.
Since I am not the best explainer in the world this would allow them to truly understand what I am talking about because someone else has always written it better.
Have a great monday!

Welcome to the challenge! Best of luck to you. There's definitely a lot of information already existing on the site so search whatever question you have. If you can't find it, be sure to ask because I'm sure others have the same question. Feel free to email me directly if you ever need anything.
