I need your opinion. I write a regular Friday post I call "Financial Follies"  (hit the link for an example) The idea is to combine important or funny financial news with my round-up/links  of other bloggers each week.

I have noticed my more popular posts are those written about health issues with  personal finance implications.  Obesity, diabetes, health insurance issues, vitamins being a few examples.

I am thinking of sprinkling important new health news in that  Friday Follies post.

An example would be a new study on alcohol and breast cancer.

What do you think?  Would that make you more/less likely to read?

Would love your thoughts!

And don't forget to forward any posts you want highlighted, they just need to be something recent, that you are proud of, and not a paid post/link article.

That is a great idea for your site. It gives you both finance and medical information in one place, which is great coming from a Dr that knows finance. I say go for it.

I second that. Great idea. Health is just as important as personal finance to me so having them both highlighted is great. Plus since you do have a medical background people will respect and seek out what you have to say.

I think news is particularly relevant to the blog format, and health news is clearly topical for your specialization. Give it a try and see what happens.

I agree with Hunter. Give a try and see what kind of response you get. since you're developing the idea based on what you see your readers are interested in, I'm sure it'll be positive.

If you get a lukewarm to cold response, I would suggest that you give it some time before you decide to pull the plug on it or not. i have a regular feature on my blog that got almost no love in the beginning but now is one of my most popular features.
