@ Crystal – Hot damn, your SE traffic has really taken off!
Does anyone have any comments on social bookmarking traffic? It seems hit or miss. I'm thinking that if I'm going to use more SB promotion that I'll need to write more "# reasons, ways, etc." posts intended for quick consumption. Maybe I'll mix in one a week, though that's not really my style. This post: http://moneymamba.com/5-effect…..card-fees/ was kind of a test for that, and it did pretty well relative to others. Same thing with http://moneymamba.com/obamas-s…..uts-chart/ which actually went viral enough that it dominated the search engines. Unfortunately, state of the union traffic was temporary.
Yeah, it really does help to have my Google Analytics code installed on all of my pages and not just my homepage, lol. 8% search engine traffic to 28% search engine traffic overnight three months ago…
I don't use social bookmarking as much as I should, so I don't see the traffic from it that I have heard from others. It is one of many things on a list of things I should do if/when I ever find the time.

I get 10,000 visitors and 19,950 page views. I have been averaging at 2 pageviews per visit for a while now.
I should add that I have some articles that can cover 20% of my traffic in a month.
I found that having my Top Post on the sidebar has helped, they seem to feed on themselves. I would say that it needs to not be too low if you want it to catch your viewer's attention. I also added a How To section and organized my menus. Interestingly enough, the menu pages are coming to the top so I know it provides valuable information.

Interesting question! I get 8,898 visitors (6,290 of those are unique visitors- let's hope they come back!) and 20,002 page views. Interestingly I can't seem to break that cursed 2.25 average page views per visit figure! Like The Passive Income Earner I too have some posts that seem to really fly and form a large chunk of my traffic. They're often the ones with the controversial or grabbing headlines (and often take much less time to write, annoyingly!)

Wait…Google analytics is supposed to be installed on each page (like on all of the pages one can view from the buttons under my header)? I don't think I've done that.

Last month I had 3,100 visitors (2,300 unique) and just under 7,000 page views. May was sort of a down month for me but things are picking up again.

It doesn't boost traffic, it accurately reports traffic. If, for some reason, 10 brazillion people come to your site via your contact page, wouldn't it be nice to know?

To those talking about installing Google Analytics on every page…I only have 3 pages myself, but I use the plugin Google Analyticator, and it automatically installs the code to each page…works perfect for me.
That being said, Im on track for 1800 views this month. I keep slowly increasing. I do exclude all admin visits, as I dont want to skew the numbers with my own visits.
Id like to be moving quicker, and maybe its the frequency at which I write…I should write more often, but Im limited on time.

Make sure you guys exclude your own visits — it can really skew your numbers depending on how much you time you spend working on your site.
Go to http://whatismyipaddress.com/
and add the IP address to the exclusion list.

If you have Google Analytics in a piece of your site that loads on every page view then you should have 100% accurate data. I'd imagine that if you follow Google's instructions to put the code before the </head> tag that you're sure to have GA code load on every page.

Saved Quarter- that is a fabulous amount of page views! I bet your bounce rate is pretty darn low.
Great job!

This is my traffic breakdown for May:
- Search Engines 4,088.00 (59.13%)
- Referring Sites 1,495.00 (21.62%)
- Direct Traffic 919.00 (13.29%)
- Other 412 (5.96%)
So that is 6914 visits, 5705 are unique
My page views are quite low, at 1.48 per visit. (Had 10,219 page views for the month.) May be that is because of my high percentage of search engine traffic? Who knows.

This is a good idea! I use the Google Analytics for WordPress which lets you configure it to exclude logged in users as well.

Well, my problem was that Google Analytics was ONLY on my homepage – so I wasn't even counting search engine visitors that landed on any of my old posts or anything. Kris at Everyday Tips and Thoughts actually helped me to figure that out since she thought it was strange that I only had 7-8% search engine traffic and couldn't get the data for visitors that she could in Google Analytics. I then used the plugin "Google Analytics for Wordpress" and removed the old code I had simply cut and pasted. Now I can actually see where my search engine visitors are landing! Woot! My stats were off for my first year though, lol.

That's what I use also. I think my traffic is average because I am working on posts that are for beginner investors and they might not even know what words to search yet! But I am comfortable with what I have now.

That is what I use too Kevin. It excludes your own site for you.
