I'm starting to get people asking to advertise on my blog and I'm pretty clueless at this point. I have no idea how much to expect for a 125x125 ad or anything else, for that matter. We'll be taking sponsors for our podcast soon as well, and I have the same issue there.
How much should I charge companies to advertise on my site? I've got affiliate ads up there but that's totally different. Do I charge per month or do some sort of per click charging?
This is a good problem to have, but I don't know how to proceed. Any advice?
For reference, I'm at 235,805 (Alexa), PR=1 (was at 2, but dropped in this last update), Moz Rank = ? How do I check that? My one month Alexa is 146,768 so I expect the 3-month to drop quickly.

Matt, you can start to base your ad prices on the income that you would make via an affiliate post or adsense etc.
Also think about what you would like to make from a post. In general bloggers charge anywhere from 20-1000 a month based on audience, PR and what the advertiser wants.
I defintely wouldn't do per click unless you have a software to keep up with it and you get over 10,000 impressions a month.
These forums are public and possibly seen by advertisers so that's as much as I'll say :)

Matt, with your stats, I think you could easily get [rate hidden] for a 6 month text link ad. As for a 125x125, those should come at a higher premium – something like [rate hidden] would be sufficient. As your PR increases, your rates will as well. Hope this helps.

Matt, I'm in the process of figuring this out myself. I'd tell you what I've gotten in the past, but it's all over the board and often I sold them way too cheap, so I don't think it would be very helpful to you.

Hi guys. This is a public forum and it is often visited by potential advertisers. I'm sure that many members would be happy to provide you with their rates! Let us know where to reach you and we'll send you e-mails. Thanks.

+1
Please discuss rate either via email or PM. Matt, if it is fine with you, I will remove the numbers from this thread?

I edited the posts. If anyone wants to know the number, email the poster privately. I am sure they will be happy to give numbers.

I'd love if some of you shot me an email with the info as well! I'm at the same point as Matt and am clueless as to what I should charge or go about private advertising. My email is below. FYI, my PR is 3 and Alexa around 125k.
