My blog is a pathetic money making machine.
I just incorporated Media.net and it seems to be doing very well.
Do you have any other suggestions on how to monetize? (of course other than creating my own products/services… that will come soon).

It works a lot like adsense.
You have your own account manager though, who works with you to find appropriate keywords to gain the best results. They even create ad spots that match your sites design.
My account manager is the one who told me about Yakezie actually and I couldn't be more grateful!

"If you build it, they will come. . ." Seriously, if you work on increasing your PR and lowering your Alexa rank in addition to writing quality content, the advertisers will soon be contacting you. It took me forever to make any money on my blog (at least 14 months!).

I second what Melissa said. It took me over two years before I got any real advertising going. I didn't really know what I was doing in terms of building my blog, building traffic, and getting exposure. I stopped and stuttered a couple of times in terms of writing and such. But, if you keep writing, you'll get noticed by Google, by readers, and by advertisers.

I see that it works on impressions right? do you know the rate? per 1,000 impressions or?

I have said this before if you are in this for the quick money QUIT NOW because it is inevitable that you will quit eventually. Your blog looks fantastic (did you do the design/coding yourself, it is really cool looking), but you are not going to put up 32 posts and start making money. Just not going to happen for 99.9% of the bloggers out there.
I also saw you on another thread asking about PR0 stop worrying about money and page rank…just write and socialize. Those things will come but it may take 6 months or a year of consistent writing before it happens.

Not meant for you Aaron that was for the original poster.
I used Media net for 3 weeks (to give them a chance) it is a CPC (cost per click) advertiser. Really cool business model just didn't convert well on my site.

Patience is a virtue, I know. I'm not in it for the quick money… I've been building this for about 1 1/2 years now.
My site has been tweaked and changed up a 100 times… I'm constantly adding to it, but now I think it's ready for mucho traffic!
I want to start creating products/services. I can't help but to want to make money with my site. I will admit, that is why I'm building my business… to make money. Also, I sincerely do have a strong desire to help other Moms out there which is why it all began.

You have been doing this 18 months? but only have 32 posts? or did I miss count on your blog.
With that amount of posts you have 2 options:
1) go on a commenting and link back spree like a niche site
OR
2) focus on writing 2 posts a week.
In my humble (read:worthless) opinion if you are unable to focus on either of those options (link building vs. writing posts) you aren't going to make money. For 99.9% of the people those are just the facts.

Melissa hit the nail on the head. This is how you do it. It took me almost a year before I got my first advertising offer.

Yes. I agree, my posting has been weak… thus me jumping into the Yakezie Challenge.
I've been incredibly inconsistent. Focusing too much time on tweaking and design. I do have a consistent newsletter & a challenge of my own that I offer my subscribers (just over 1k).
It's been really fun (and surprisingly easy) coming up with post ideas this week. It's a new habit I'm creating… my goal is 3-4 posts/week.
I'm just curious about possible ad networks (like Media.net) or good affiliates you might know of. I know this won't make me rich (maybe at least pay for the cost of upkeep/design & hosting).
I certainly know I'm on the right track by being here. I feel the momentum already.
Thanks!

You can try flexoffers. They have a pretty good reputation.

I am happy you are jumping in head first! Good luck.
You will NOT make anything with Adsense and Media.net unless you have a good amount of search engine traffic. Those are the only people who usually click those types of ads (media.net might be better than adsense if you have less search engine traffic).
Affiliate companies (such as FlexOffers) may be good if you are a built in newsletter already.

Wow, 32 posts and you have 1k in subscribers? That is a lot. I already like you on FB, but I see you have over 200, that's more than me with triple the amount of postings, you must be doing something right.

Thanks! I'll look into it… Is FlexOffers comparable to Commission Junction?

I like to think I've done some things right But I've totally lacked on the important stuff …a lot of my subscribers came from guest posting a lot. I think I've guest posted more often then posted on my site! That will change. (I've liked your FB page too. Thanks!)
I see you made $700ish with your advertising (from your stat update post). What is that from?

I had been writing for a long time before I got my first ad offer, and an even longer time before I joined the yakezie and started getting semi-consistent ad offers. I still dont make the money Id like with the consistency I'd like (but who does, besides crystal).
Just keep working, you'll get there – think of this as a marathon, not a sprint – like the rest of the good things in life.

I just recently got my first ad dollars ($121). Just focus on the building of the site, because when your site is small, the chances of getting direct ads is slim. Constantly worrying about it will drive you crazy.
