I'm sorry to hear that :(
Good luck resolving the issue and I hope things work out well for you.

Edward,
I am guessing that you have spoken to the hosting company about signing over the data to you? Then you could possibly try contacting the datacenter directly, explain the situation and see if there is anything that could be resolved… It might take a minute to get everything sorted out and that you are the "owner" of those site just trying to recover his data and hard work from a hosting company with bad business practices…
I wasn't aware that was even possible. How would I go about that?

I'm looking for editors, beta-readers, and some demographic research for my upcoming novel, Once Upon a Saturn Moon. If you like reading soft sci-fi thrillers, maybe with a touch of romance thrown in, you can find more information at http://seampublishing.com/once…..aturn-moon

I was talking to my webmaster (who runs our dedicated server) … He asked do you know what datacenter they were using?
Also he pointed out this forum / post as a possible starting point and some ideas… http://www.webhostingtalk.com/…..?t=1073513

I'm very sorry to learn of your misfortune, particularly because you were one of the first here to help me with some blogging issues when I first came aboard last month. In any event, I hope that you have a reversal in fortune, and that everything works out for you. It'll be sad to see you go.

The datacenter is FDC Servers, which apparently has an "F" rating from the BBB. From what I've been able to piece together, due to a dispute over hardware maintenance on one of their rented servers (not the one my account was hosted on), my host did not pay its rent on that server. In response, FDC turned off both servers rented by my host.

I have emailed FDC asking them to resume service to the server I am on, providing both the domain URL and the IP address of the server. So far, I have received an automated response.

Well, using a combination of Google cache and saved posts in my RSS reader, I have recovered all of my posts. Unless the KoolServe-FDC dispute gets resolved, comments are probably gone forever. I couldn't even begin to guess how to import html copies of the comments from Google.
FDC responded that they don't get involved in disputes involved with end-users and referred me to the host. The host isn't willing to take what is probably the only action that would get a result: lawsuit. That leaves me and anyone else who didn't their backups done before the server went down completely out of luck.
I'm currently piggy-backing on my brother's hosting account with another provider until I can afford to buy my own hosting package again. KoolServe isn't getting another dime from me. This problem wasn't really their fault, but I've had problem after problem with them.

Edward,
That is crazy, but gladly you were able to regain "most" of your content…
Contact my web developer / it manager – He said he can work something out with the hosting…. He manages 8 dedicated servers full time and said to talk to him…
