I quit the Yakezie effective immediately.  I have now twice been directly or indirectly on these message boards questioned about my actions as not currently being an official challenger or member of the Yakezie.  Once about my post on Alexa ranking and a second time with the blog swap.  I guess some people do not want to waste a post on my newer blogs now that I don't have traffic anymore like I did with Broke Professionals.  Debt Payer and Freelance PF are only a few weeks old and I'm doing the best I can.

I'm quite frankly upset that after I sold Broke Professionals I have been turned away like this by some members of this group—a group I felt close with.  I thought I was always a productive member of this community but I think for some the focus is now on memberships and exclusivity and clubs.  I won't be a part of it and I don't want to cause further division in the group.  I'm a lawyer and part of what I like about blogging is not having to deal with constant cronyism.  Or so I thought.

So effective immediately I am out of the Yakezie.  I will not visit this site any longer and I will not leave messages or associate myself with your club.

I hope it is alright if I still read your blogs that I enjoy and leave comments.  Everyone is free to email me and I hope I do not lose all of the relationships I have built up over this time but I can't sit around and be questioned like this another time.

I hope the best for all of your blogs.

You know, I was hoping to go to the threads that you spoke about and argue with you about how you were taking the events out of context and reading too much into them.  But, I went and read them, and I think it lands somewhere in the middle.

In any case, I, for one, am sorry to see you go, and hope you the best of luck in the future.

The blog swap disagreement was with me, and it had nothing to do with the low-traffic of a new site. I was upset with the lack of communication, that I sent the post to one blog and it showed up on a different blog without mentioning it to me. It was a Yakezie blog swap, and I'm not sure why it's a problem to ask that the blog a swapped post shows up on be participating in Yakezie!

I'm happy to support a new blog and hope that it's successful, but would have appreciated a little notice that the switch was happening.

I hope that you'll reconsider and join as a challenger with your new blogs. They both are promising and you know how this group can help you. You're a talented blogger and your participation is valued in this group.

FreelancePF,

I hope you reconsider.  I thought you were a valuable member of the community, as part of the challenge, or not.  The selling of BP seemed to have been a win for everyone.  There was some miscommunication between a few members and yourself, but you shouldn't let those few incidents ruin, for the most part, a good experience.  I actually thought things got patched up pretty quick.  Hope you reconsider.  If you do decide to move on, I will keep in touch.

I haven't read the posts in question but this group is pretty big.  If you have a disagreement with a couple of people you shouldn't lump the whole group in and quit.

If you think it's the best move to quit then sorry to see you go.  Best always.

I agree with Glen…there seems to be something like 100 blogs floating around here, no reason to ditch the 97 you like because of 3 you don't…

TBH – I admitted I misunderstood your challenge intentions and apologized – even suggested that despite how you feel about Alexa it is cool to just hang out around here – challenger or not.  Thought it was resolved at that.  I guess not.  Not sure what else to say.

I think you should take a few days and think it over first. There are a lot of people that have been supportive and believe that you are a valuable member of the community.

Sorry, I'm confused. Why did you sell Broke Professionals 3 months into the Challenge and after just starting the site and then proceed to start another site? Did I get that right? Sorry, Im not caught up so someone pls explain.

Thx,

Sam

Sam,

He was tired of the regular posting commitment that it takes to maintain a blog.

Sam,

I wanted to start a freelance business but Broke Professionals audience demanded daily posts.  In order to have a successful freelance venture I had to cut back on my own sites and put my best work into other's sites.  I then realized I still missed having a home-base so I started a new blog, where the audience will never expect daily updates.  I haven't regretted selling BP–which has been mutually beneficial, I believe, for one second.  But you didn't read the posts so I can see why you were confused.

Sorry to hear about that. We're a big group so there's no need to leave because of a disagreement with 1 or 2. Hope you'll reconsider!

All I remember is you asking me after two months into the Challenge whether you can join eary.  When I mentioned everybody has gone through a 6 month Challenge no matter who they are, you weren't too happy and I guess you subsequently sold the site.  Sorry, it's just hard to keep up with all the motions, but I must say that this thread is quite entertaining!

Anyhoo, good luck with your new site. I'm excited to see Suba from maintain and continue to grow Broke Professionals.

For everyone else, don't feel like your blog's audience demands daily posts.  It's your blog and you can do what you want.  I post on average 3-3.5 a week and that's it.

Best, Sam
