Hey Doctor Stock: We definitely accept newbies:). And don't forget, each of us was a newbie, and mostly not that long ago. You'll be amazed at what you can learn here.

Thanks Amanda… I sometimes feel like the social media age just about passed me by… but I'm excited to contribute and learn.

I recommend that you participate in the next blog swap. I really enjoy doing those.

Also don't be afraid to start your own initiatives. The whole reason we have summer groups is because the Single Saver took a suggestion and fleshed it out into action.

You get out just as much as you put in so stay involved in the forums and such.

You can also improve your page rank and moz rank by linking internally to your previous posts. This gives the bots more to crawl and helps distribute your domain's ranking to your inner pages.

Excellent… thanks so much.  I didn't realize the whole "bots" thing… and I realize you're not referring to some computer virus.  Wow, I'm such a newbie.
What's a blog swap?

The blog swap is organized by Yakezie members and challengers. Basically whoever signs up writes a guest post and swaps it with another blog. Then all of the posts centered around the same topic go live at once.

You can sign up for the next one here http://yakezie.com/forums/blog…..0-sign-up/

Dr Stock… I see you have been blogging awhile…I like your site, it's clean and concise.  I would make Twitter more visible towards the top, and I dont see Facebook at all.  Adding buttons for each of those above the fold would be a great help I think! Social media will grow your blog.

I like the site too, not too busy.  And I love the header.  Just a quick fyi, the twitter feed isn't working in the sidebar.

One thing I would recommend is adding an actual contact form to your contact page.  It's one of those things, that help people get in touch with you more easily rather than having to do extra work of logging into their e-mail site, or opening Outlook or whatever.  I read a few posts where the authors won't even bother going through the effort, and won't return to the site because they didn't want to do that much work and felt the webmaster should make it effortless.

Welcome…just be consistent and take it slow.

Most blogs die within 6 months, that is the reason there is at least a 6 month waiting period to become a member, don't burn out!

This is good advice.  I removed several "challenger" blogs from my reader this week because they haven't posted for months.

Thanks so much for your feedback… you wouldn't believe what happened yesterday?  My computer hard drive "died."  So, I'm in the process of buying a new computer and doing all the labor.

Thanks for your input… they are greatly appreciated.  I agree with the whole Twitter thing… it does need to be more visible.  As for Facebook, I haven't used it… BUT, the other day, I went exploring.  I started to set up a Facebook page for my site… I'm not sure what I'm doing (as I said, I'm a total inept newbie when it comes to social media).  But I'm moving in that direction.

Thanks AGAIN!!Laugh

Welcome to the group.  Right now it may seem as if you are new and confused about what to do here, but in a few weeks you will feel right at home.  Trust me!  I look forward to hearing more from you.

I can tell you that these guys and gals are great (really everyone I've "met" in the PF circles has been).  You will feel right at home, and not like some clique in high school.  My only regret was not joining sooner.

Thanks Eric… I've really enjoyed interacting on your site already.

Wow… I sure hope so.  Hopefully I will have recovered from my hard drive dying too yesterday.  What a bummer.  Now, off to your site to check it out and support you.
