Something I have tried to work on is letting things go even if I think I'm right. In the end being right doesn't matter if you have to pay too steep a price. Who can ever really say who is right or wrong anyway? It's always about your own personal perception. As they say, "even villains think their right."
I'm sorry I quit on the group and I appreciate most of your welcome support back. I am sorry I have in part allowed the emphasis to be removed from improving our blogs in these forums. Disagreements will arise and misunderstandings will occur. But handling them in a responsible manner is of course part of being an adult. Any issues should have been initially handled behind closed doors–through email that would remain personal.
Of all the people in the Yakezie I am probably the most in debt. Every month I am terrified about my finances. Sometimes when I first started blogging that made me too aggressive in trying to build a "lucrative blog." I later realized that's not the point–I just like to write and to hopefully help others who are in a similar position.
Nobody wants to admit they had to sell a blog they worked on day and night for months in order to pay an unexpected thousand dollar plus oil bill for their new house. Still, my motives at heart are not all about money. I barely ever advertised or sought money on my former site. I just want to be a positive member of the Yakezie–and I believe that is what I have been, by and large.
I am sorry I overreacted and quit the group over a disagreement with a few of its members.
I hope you can all forgive me–even Sam who from his posts apeares to possibly have a negative impression of me. I'm just a 27 year old saddled with half a million dollars in debt trying to do something he loves–which is to write.
Anyway, that is the last I am going to speak about it. Feel free to email me if anyone has any further concerns/thoughts.

I'm going to comment here, not to air dirty laundry, but, because I think it's something that everybody here needs to hear. Many of us try to maintain a certain air of anonymity on our sites. Don't underestimate the ability of a little "truth-telling" to set you free. Whether it's your story or not, the truth is pretty powerful stuff. Ask J.D. of Get Rich Slowly what the "reader stories" he publishes do for him and for his readers. If you're anonymous, it's easy to tell your story anonymously. If, like me you aren't as anonymous, you might consider writing a "reader story" that is really your story. Think of it like an episode of Dragnet (I think that's the right reference) "The names have been changed, but the story remains the same" sort of thing.

I posted about it at Broke Professionals and stated my concerns but stated that "I had enough left in reserves" and I was so thankful. It was right around the time of my sale and I didn't want anyone to put two and two together. Buying a new home is terribly expensive and we probably weren't ready with our student loan debt. I agree it's better to just be fully honest when you make a mistake with your finances.

I was referring to myself. I think the reason why everyone is so nice generally in these message boards is that the second your not things get so easily misconstrued. I was saying that I don't want it to be about right or wrong. Because everyone in their mind thinks their right anyway. If I keep going down a certain path because I think I'm right then I might be delusioned…because even villains think their right. Meaning I could be the villain in all of this even if I think I am right. So I'd rather just drop it. Of course your not the villain. You're Canadian! The Candadian's are never villains.

I think that we have all had financial issues at one time or another and they can be quite stressful. I bet you can turn one of your blogs into a source of income of at least a thousand or more a month.

Thank you for clarifying. I did not want to assume and react w/o asking.

You were right when you said we patched everything up before–at least on my end. Congrats on your nomination in the Globe.

Thanks for the encouraging words. My current freelance roster should exceed that number. The problem is trying to fit everything in. So for so good, for the most part. I'll have to shoot you an email sometime and see how you do it.

I would like to combat you assertions that you are the most in debt here (don't include your house). I pride myself on carrying the largest debt of the Yakezie. So sir, I see your cards, and raise you.

SPF,
Considering where BP lives, I can almost guarantee that the 160K number is JUST student loans…i.e. doesn't include his mortgage.

Good Lord. I'm glad to be the loser current college student with $0 in SL debt. Thank you, Yakezie, for making me a loser. Never have I appreciated it as much as I do right now.

Is that possible? I mean … without alienating all of my non-consumer, self-sufficient, uber-frugal readers? While BF is competing for highest debt load, I'd be willing to bet that we have the lowest monthly income of anyone here, and I need to change that. No debt, though.

Canadian Doomer – I don't know, my family's income is pretty darn low. http://thesavedquarter.com/201…..ound-up-2/
But no debt besides a student loan that will be paid off before it starts accruing interest.

Yes.
Very few people are actually non-consumer. It's almost impossible.
Take a look at James Wesley, Rowles. He has arguably the most self-sufficient readership of any blog anywhere. It's a core tenet of his niche. He makes good money on ads and sponsorships. If you're a resource, your readers won't mind you earning money for your time.
