Well, it's official. 3 months and 9 days since I declared my intention to join the Yakezie challenge I have broken the 200k mark in Alexa. I am currently sitting at 199,904 with a 1-month average of 156k. First, I wanted to say thank you for this great network for helping me learn how to blog, and thank you to those who have visited my site. Second, I wanted to ask what is next (as far as the Yakezie Challenge goes). What do I do from here on out to become a full-fledged member of Yakezie? Thanks in advance!

Congrats on the result! I am just above 200 k myself (235k) so I will be breaking thru soon too (hopefully) after about two months challenging Yakezie. I had the exact same question, but nobody answered. I guess you just replace the badge on you website. But that's my unqualified humble opinion.

Wait a bit pls.
You become member after completing at least 6 months in to the challenge. Then when the next batch joins you apply to become a member.
There are a few formalities. No one can prevent you from changing badge but, there are some membership benefits which you'll never receive unless you are formally inducted.
Please read the membership announcement post from the archive.
Congrats both of you on Alexa rank!

Would you mind to post a link tot he archive where it is described? I tried to find it but unsuccessfuly. Maybe I am blind or stupid, but really I didn't see it.Also where do I find the batch openings. I remember seeing it on the blog, but not sure it is an official opening.
Thanks for your help

It's like health insurance — there's an open enrollment period. You're a challenger (and still lovely) until there's an announcement here that says "hey! send us your info!" which you fill out stating that yes, you posted 2-5 times per week, that you made an effort to connect with challengers and members, and yes, your Alexa is somewhere lower than it once was. There's a bit more information here, but just watch Yakezie for the announcement!

also you'll need to produce 10 member and 10 challengers who can vouch for your involvement in the group activities and interaction.
Your Alexa rank should be below 200k while applying for membership.
Two important pointers you shouldn't ignore.

Congrats Nick, it's been a month for me and I'm at 673,000. Can you share with us newbies on how you got there in 3 months?

Thanks Peter! Here are some things that I think were really helpful on my way to 200k:
1. Be active on the Yakezie forums.
2. Read blogs by other Yakezie challengers and members. Make relevant comments on their blogs.
3. Post 3 times per week.
4. Interact with other bloggers on Twitter. I use the 80/20 rule, wherein I focus on sharing others content 80% of thetime and my own content 20% of the time.
5. Submit your posts to carnivals.
6. Submit your posts to bookmarking sites such as Reddit and StumbleUpon
7. Do a few guest posts.
8. Above all, form relationships with other bloggers!
Hope that helps!

Nick,
you forgot to list when are we supposed to go sleep! :))
No worries, just teasing you. Anyway this is a great list summing it nicely. I think this can be a great reference to new challengers.

As Nick said is a great list. I've been doing the same basically and it took me about two months to get from 1.7 m down to 234 k. The key is promoting others rather than yourself. It will follow itself.
Keep up the good work.

Congrats on falling below 200k. Continue to do what you listed and you'll be at 100k in no time.
