WHOO-HOO!!!  I'm at Get Rich Slowly today!!!  Here's the link: http://www.getrichslowly.org/b…..ent-loans/

I'd be super grateful if you all would promote the crud out of it, lol.  I still can't believe JD posted it so quickly (I submitted it a couple of weeks ago and was warned by others that it could take months if he even liked it…).

Thank you everybody!  I put a little shout-out to the Yakezie in my GRS welcome message!

That's awesome Crystal!  I like your content re-ordering on the website, and the little "squeeze page" of sorts to get those new readers into the mix.  I hope you see a nice spike (and maybe even sustained) boost in traffic. Laugh

Great article, Crystal.

I have to admit I am a little shocked at how many commenters are advocating acquiring student loan debt.  I see some of their points, but i also think in the long run not having any debt when you graduate makes life much, much easier.

@JT, I'm glad you like the little renovations!

@The Single Saver, I am actually surprised there aren't more negative comments for 2 reasons:  1)  People usually need to justify why they disagree (why they had college loans) and 2)  People may want to justify paying for their kids education.

I completely understand and agree that I did have to give up a big part of my social life to work all the time.  Luckily, my coworkers were awesome people to hang out with too.  :-)

Congrats on getting on GRS!

And great story by the way! It's hard to avoid studend loan and it requires a lot of courage ;-)

Questions; are you getting any significant traffic spike?

YES.  My normal unique visitors per day is between 250-350.  I've gotten 1300 so far today.  But, I've gotten no new commenters and hardly anything from Adsense.  I'm just hoping 10% of these people enjoyed me enough to stick around.  :-)

Thank you everybody!  This was actually a post I was writing for my own site and just realized at the last minute that it would fit for JD as well…just something to keep in mind if you are trying to build up a little courage to submit to bigger blogs.

@Kay, good luck!  I hope to be reading your story at GRS soon!

Crystal – congrats on the accomplishment. Good example for everyone here. Also, while you might not have gotten any new commenters so far, you may have earned some new readers that could comment on upcoming posts. If nothing else, that's quite a day for traffic – especially for a Sunday!

Very true.  I'm also answering every single comment on GRS that is directly related to my post, so hopefully all of the commenters will see how involved I really am.  Commenters/readers keep me going.  The interaction of blogging is what I love.  I hope that is obvious to anybody and everybody who visits…
