uh oh. I just changed my dashboard layout in WP and the whole site has gone wonky! and I didn't back up prior to moving the boxes in the dashboard. oh no oh no oh no.

I am so sorry. Do you have any older backups to work with? I am always freaked out that I am going to ruin my site (I actually deleted my WP Dashboard page before when I was starting a new blog…I really suck at everything but writing, lol).
If you and our fellow Yakezie can't fix the problem, I use http://www.blogcrafted.com when I screw things up. They charge $40 an hour but work fast and have saved Budgeting in the Fun Stuff from me on several occasions. Good luck!

Fixed it! Phew.
I'd added a text widget with code from Twitter to my new profile and that code removed a bunch of widgets! How odd! Learn something new everyday …

Wow! Just a few short days after posting here my alexa rank has gone from ~ 23.1 million to ~5.8 million! Getting there! Thanks to those who checked out our site and/or subscribed to our feed (up to 5 now!). Blogging if FUN.

Hi all,
A noob question here.
Today we had a great (for us) number of site hits – triple our previous high (yesterday 31, today 105 and counting).
Our Alexa rank updated a few hours ago but it didn't go up (or down).
Do site hits affect my Alexa rank?

The number of people visiting your site that also have an Alexa toolbar installed on their comp affects your ranking. Everybody else doesn't, but ain't it fun to see a ton of extra visitors?! :-) If most of your extra visitors are Yakezie members, your Alexa will plummet tomorrow, lol. :-)

Thanks – unfortunately they were not. I leveraged a forum I use (redflagdeals.com/forums) to post our 5 part series on how we saved $9500 on our Subaru Outback import from the US. Ah well, it was VERY cool to see our hits triple.

Got a new article up. From my research one can save over $1200 over 8 years by using CFL lightbulbs vs incandescent bulbs!
