Hey guys! Lately I've been working on new projects and it's pretty interesting. After blogging for five years, I forget what it's like to start.

What would you do if you launched a new blog from scratch?

Build a launch plan – setup guest posts, do a round-up, etc.  Start with a bang!

I launch all of my sites from scratch, and I learn from each launch! I'm with Retire by 40 – my latest blogs, I've hired people to write on them. Be sure to optimize each and every post, add meta descriptions. Start off with a solid, recognizable logo that you can carry with you – I for some reason keep forgetting to do that. IT's a pain to transition later.

Also, ask for help! Reach out to guest post, etc. We're all pretty keen on helping new blogs do well :)

I hired a VA the week before the launch so she was able to take care of many things for both sites, I still do most of the writing on both but she saves me a lot of time.

If you don't hire a writer (and maybe even if you do) have a good number of posts/articles researched and written or outlined before launching so you can concentrate on marketing in the early days.

Carnival submissions, SEO, keyword research, managing social media, commenting, etc.
