So it didn't take me too long to get addicted to Twitter…I love this thing!

I was thinking, though, that with the power of the Yakezie network comes an excellent opportunity to promote ourselves and others.  You've probably heard of the #FF and #followfriday tags where you throw a bunch of people's names you think people should follow, then put on the hashtag to have it show up in the hash list.

So I did a search for "#personalfinanceFF" and there were no tweets.  Let's get this thing popping!

This Friday, I'm going to be running thru quite a few of my followers and Yakezie comrades and attaching #personalfinanceFF to the end of it.  I figure if we can start it among us Yakeziers, it will be only a matter of a few minutes that the rest of the PF blogosphere catches on.  In the end, we're sure to get some more followers from bloggers and readers alike. You guys in? Laugh

I already attach #yakezie to all my posts.  I don't think I have room to add another one.

I think that most of us were using #Yakezie on our important tweets. We tried to use #YPromoGroup a while back, but it got hijacked, so most people don't use it anymore. I don't think I'd have room for #personalfinanceFF at the end of my tweets…do you think that #PFFF would be too confusing?

We let #YPromoGroup die down until it wasn't taken over, but I think that we can continue to use it. The majority of us already use #yakezie.  Let me explain the difference:

1.  #Yakezie is typically used on our regular blog posts.  This also helps Sam find and retweet our articles when he is logged in as @yakezie and gets it across the entire network.  Of course other Yakezie members can also use this tag to find posts from each other.

2.  #YPromoGroup is to be used on posts that you would like the rest of usto promote for you such as retweet, digg, stumble, etc.  You should use this hash tag on your MOST important article of the week that you would really like to get out there.  Don't spam your fellow Yakezie by pushing or using this too much.  People will check this hash tag and when they have time will help you out.  With this hash tag my line is always, use it, don't abuse it.

Happy social networking.

Whoops–I had no idea #YPromoGroup was hijacked. I've been using it periodically–who hijacked it?

I think is a great idea. Also since it's just on Follow Fridays we should be able to squeeze it in somewhere. I'll use it tomorrow for sure.

I noticed that a lot of non-Yakezie tweeters (twitterers?) were using it in their tweets. On some days, they even outnumbered the real members/challengers!

I have only seen 1 or 2 posts with it recently, so I guess it's safe to use once again.

@ Sandy – great breakdown!
