Hey guys, I haven't really been active on here since the niche site challenge. I always enjoy friendly competition and setting up new goals. Today I wanted to propose a new challenge.

 Let's make $5,000 from freelancing this summer.

Long story short, let's try to make $5,000 from additional income in the next four months. What do you think?

I've taken a different approach in that I've taken to marketing my own apps directly instead of building apps for third parties. I've avoided that, for now, since that's what I did for my day job and doing that right away would feel too much like… work.

What I would really like to do actually is as I get more experience, just move straight into consulting instead of being "just another coder". I think that could be a great way to get a leg up. One big thing I'm missing is the networking, and when I get back home, I plan to start getting more involved in the community and at events. I mostly avoided that in the very beginning because I believe in giving and receiving, and I'm not comfortable without anything to show for myself.
