Hello,
I was hoping to compile a list of everyone who has Trackbacks enabled on their Yakezie member/challenger sites or even other sites.
If you have Trackbacks enabled on any of your sites, please respond to this post and leave the URL for your Trackback-enabled sites.
When I say Trackbacks enabled, I mean that you actually display your Trackback links from other sites below your articles, either within your comments or separately from your comments.
I know everybody doesn't use Trackbacks, so I thought it would be interesting to compile a list of sites that do.
Plus, I've found that over time, Trackbacks do provide some traffic from other sites, so it's a nice way to exchange links with each other in a natural sort of way.
Don't worry, I don't intend to Trackback spam you or anything like those Trackback terrorists do, but I just wanted to know what other sites are willing to exchange legitimate Trackbacks.
I obviously use Trackbacks on (http://www.maximizingmoney.com/) and will happily accept any Trackbacks received from any of your sites.
If you have any theories on Trackbacks, I'd love to hear that too.
Thank you, Max

I accept trackbacks on my site too. http://www.budgetinginthefunstuff.com/
By the way, thanks for the mention in your huge link list of tips! I tried to leave a comment, but it wouldn't let me type anything. Thanks!

We accept trackbacks, as well. I did a lot of testing when I first launched Wealth Artisan because I didn't understand them, lol. :)

I never used to allow them as wanted to keep as many links one way as possible (a track back makes a return link to a page that linked to you…. In link terms that could weaken the link).
Now I review each one. If it's from a Yakezie blog I let it through, a blog i don't know or a spam blog I delete it.

I allow trackbacks…though I find that many are eaten up by spam. Since I am now receiving something ludicrous like 600 spam comments in a matter of days, I don't go through them anymore.
P.S. has anyone been eaten up in my spam in the last few months?

I have them too. But I don't know if I "get" all the trackbacks. For example, when I made my usual rounds this morning, I saw you linked to me in the huge summer money saving tips post. But I never got a trackback, should I change something somewhere?

Thanks to everyone who responded so far.
@Crystal, you're welcome for the inclusion, not sure what happened with the comments for you, but I tested and believe it's working fine at this point.
@Sustainable PF, You're welcome as well for the inclusion and congratulations on quitting.
@Kay Lynn, I don't know if all Wordpress themes come with them displayed automatically, so maybe some people just aren't familiar with them. I see them as another way to benefit, so why not? I guess maybe some people don't like how they look when displayed under their articles, but I don't know, just a personal preference I suppose.
@Forest, I understand what you're saying about the return link from the Trackback weakening the power of the initial link to your site. I guess that might depend on whether you have no-follow coding in place for your Trackback links though. I just see it as a way to award other sites that decide to link to your site, so it's like a link exchange motivation for other sites to link to you that otherwise might not. For me, the benefit has been more from readers clicking through my Trackbacks on other sites, and not necessarily SEO (although that's hard to measure specifically). I get a lot of spammers that try to abuse it as well, but I always welcome legitimate Trackbacks. I do think it's a nice feature for readers though if they can see some related articles that linked to yours. My only thing personally is that I want to try to separate my trackbacks and comments, as they're currently mixed together in my theme, so I have to look into the coding for that.
Thanks again everybody, hope you're enjoying your weekend.

Hey Suba,
I think this is pretty common. This happens to me on Wordpress all the time. When I link to my own articles, I get trackbacks to myself, but not always. Sometimes, I'll go back to update an older article, and I'll get a flood of trackbacks from that article, lol.

I'm not an expert on the technical aspects of how Trackbacks work, but I've noticed sometimes that if you have multiple links within a post (like a link round-up), your site will not necessarily ping all of those links at the same time or even at all unless you update the page at a later time, and I believe the ping process is necessary to trigger the Trackback, so basically, since I had multiple links in that article, not all of those links may have been pinged, so you wouldn't have received a trackback in that case if my site didn't ping yours.
Somebody can probably explain this better than me, but that's just something I've noticed that happens.
And sometimes, when I go back and update an old article with multiple links like that, it will then ping a link that was not previously pinged and cause a Trackback at that later time.
You can test out if your Trackbacks are working by linking to another article on your own site, and this should then result in a Trackback between your articles, so at least you'll know that your Trackbacks are working.
Another thing is that some sites, like my theme, come with a little "Trackback" text link underneath your article, where other sites can grab the link to be Trackbacked, and this link is the same URL as your article with "/trackback/" at the end, and then when somebody uses this link on their site, it initiates the Trackback. However, it's not actually necessary to use this "Trackback" link to initiate a Trackback, as it does it automatically when your normal URLs are linked to either way. I'm not sure if this is an outdated feature, but maybe in some cases, it is necessary.
Anyway, hope some of this helps in some way.

I do at: http://www.untemplater.com
It's funny b/c I was just thinking about trackbacks and pingbacks this morning and decided to turn them. Then I happened to stumble across this in the forums in the afternoon which was pretty cool. :)
I haven't used them before so hopefully I'll know soon if they are working properly. -Sydney

Ive had my trackbacks on forever, and are always do-follow links back to the site linking to FS.
I just got to be diligent about the spammers.
Cheers

Trackbacks tend not to work well on 301 redirects. I.e. if you 301 www. to no-www. then all links to www. will not generate a trackback, at least that is my experience.
