I hope you guys are enjoying your Sunday afternoon.
I just wanted to open up a discussion here/get your input on something. Being a college grad at 23 with few real responsibilities (driving brother to soccer, paying condo fees until I rent it out) I have been enamored with the idea of traveling/being location independent.
On the two trips that I went on I brought my laptop so that I could do some work in between all of the fun. As we speak I'm finishing up a post and I wanted to include your thoughts.
My question is: Have you tried to be location independent/ is this something you're interested in?
I will include all responses and every link you add. This is a chance to be a part of a cool piece/get a free link. I really want to see what you guys have to say about this.
You can respond here or you can email me md @ studenomics.com
All the best

I personally traveled ALOT in highschool and really love the settled life I have now. If you like the idea of being location independent though, this is the time to go after it! Not everybody is a homebody like me.

I am sort of a home body like Crystal, but I have thought about becoming location independant, at least for a few years. My wife would love to travel to Europe, and she already has a virtual job. So, if I could make enough money online, we could really live anywhere! I think it would be amazing.
Of course, it would get old after a while, and I would miss my family (I just got back from being away for the past 3 years). My having the option would be fun!

I travel often to New York, Halifax and to Western Canada. Being virtual really makes it a breeze. I literally have run my entire business off my iPad (even posted articles to the site through it). I think it really comes down to, do you have enough cash to be independent as you'd be living in hotels a lot of the time (gets expensive) and if you were to get up and leave could you run everything through a laptop or a tablet?
Sensi wrote this piece, while he was at a train station (yes I do think its weird that people still take the train lol)

That would be awesome! It's definitely one of my goals with my blog, to be location independent. I have friends from high school that moved to Buenos Aires and I'm seriously considering moving (or at least an extended visit) once I have enough income from the blog.

Have you visited the blog of a a Yakezie member with the site called Wandering Earl? He has made a life out of not being in one place too long and is really, really good at it.
You might also want to check out Early Retirement Extreme.

I'd rather be financially indepedent, but the possibility to be location independent comes with the package. ;) Right now I'm fine so long as I get some travel in here and there, but I think there are a lot of really cool possibilities with a location-independent lifestyle, too.

I'm location independent, currently in USA but was in Egypt. Off to Egypt via Germany again in a few weeks.
I love it, it can be draining not having a fixed schedule and it can interrupt productivity but i would say the trade off is worthwhile.
