Pete is awesome.

I second that! Best money I spent to date on my blog! I had a very amateur looking banner until he created one for me, I couldnt be happier!

I will check the designer link you sent.  However, I like the idea of engage my readers and seeing if some folks out there can help me with my logo design.  I agree that there is risk here, but I believe I will get a few good submissions to choose from and at the same time have a little fun in the process.

I think that's an awesome idea to engage your readers.

Unfortunately, I have pretty close to no design skills (see my blog for proof), so I can't participate, but good luck.

I thought it was a fun idea and you can always get someone else to re-do it later if needed.  I hope you get a ton of turn-out!  Laugh  Sorry I have no design abilities myself (Mrs. Money from Ultimate Money Blog did mine and my ex-supervisor created my new logo from the one Mrs. Accountability at Out of Debt Again made for me, lol).

At some point, I need to hire someone to refresh my banner as well as improve the overall layout of my site.  I put aside a few bucks from every ad sale I get so that I can re-invest back in the blog.

I'd probably go with a pro as well but I admire the idea of seeing what you can find from your fellow bloggers.  Good luck!

Great idea.  I might even apply, myself, if I get inspired.  I like your willingness to involve your readers.

Very cool idea. If I had these skills I would participate. Sounds really neat. I bet there are going to be some cool entries.

I just had pete do a logo of mine – he did a great job, and was totally worth the $100 I paid him.

Thanks, I hope to works out. I think another good way to engage reads is through polls and surveys. I have iused the wordpress polldaddy plug in and had a decent rresponse rate. I also started using mailchimp.com for my newsletter and that has been working out well. Great tracking and stastics. And it is free

Im sure you will get more than a few submissions!  Make sure you promote it a ton so you can get some options.

I am thinking you might get fewer options…since good designers might not want to gamble their time on attempting to win.

What a fun idea! I would be totally afraid to count on what came in but love the creative thinking.

You are braver than I!  What if you don't like any of the submissions?

I guess you can always use the submitted logo for awhile then switch it out later if you wanted though.

I think it's a great idea. I hung up my designer gloves (was once my profession) because I got sick of the whole industry however as it is for fun i'll knock something up if I have time.

Vist me at Frugal Zeitgeist…. Frugal and Sustainable Living for the now…
