I'm looking for a new premium wordpress theme. Been using Thesis for a while and it's getting a little stale.
Looking for something clean like the new CNBC.com design is… lots of white space, room for pictures, etc.
Any recommendations? Don't mind paying a little bit for a good one (will use an aff link if you leave one)

I use Elegant Themes. You can buy access to 85 WordPress themes for $35. They come out with a new theme about once a month and there have been a lot of great ones lately. But definitely look through what they have to see if there is something you like before buying the subscription.

I love all the Studiopress themes, which run on Genesis. Solid, stable, good SEO, highly recommend.

I'm in the middle of building my own framework because none of them do what I want. :) Yup, a whole framework, not just a theme!
I have found a good A/B split testing plug in from WPMU, BUT the functionality is REALLY limited.

I use Genesis too (affiliate link). I switched from Thesis to Genesis and love it! The child themes are great and there are tons of options for easy customization.
I also do custom designs for Wordpress sites if you are interested. You get Genesis for free with my service.

If you haven't decided on a theme, I'm a huge fan of headway. It's really easy to drag and drop using their custom builder.

I have been researching themes as well. I don't want to have to code (or hire a coder) so I research themes that matched my requirements. I have just settled on theme-junkie (shameless affiliate ) as of today. Two bloggers I know use it and their sites are great. Headway was a close second and I was quite intrigued by the Woo Themes.
What mattered to me was the theme layout for maximizing spaces while supporting Ads and social icons out of the box without much work. I am moving from a Athaualpa (free) and hope the transition will be smooth. It's the first time I will do a theme switch.

(In advance, links all contain affiliate code)
I'd recommend heading over to Themeforest – it's a collection of themes from various freelancers instead of one developer making them all. I'm using the Deadline theme designed by Awesem, but Bangkok Press or SuperSkeleton also made my shortlist of simple, clean designs with plenty of room for content.

I use Canvas from Woo Themes and love it. I can customize almost everything. Maybe I'm a control freak? If you're a control freak, too, check it out.
