Hey Yakezie,

This week I took to task an evaluation of an interesting and new "take n bake" business model.  If you like pizza, business, or both, you might take an interest in it:

mmmmm Pizza. Friday night is pizza night!

You have me thinking about other business models that could be developed like this to utilize the food stamp factor. The pizza industry is perfect for model experimentation. It is just so big, and I don't know anyone that doesn't like some kind of pizza. Even a very small market share can be very profitable.

This is a unique concept, that I've not heard of before. I also enjoyed the analysis.

Interesting take! I'm promoting it.

One thing to note: the program is called SNAP (Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program), formerly food stamps, and the EBT isn't the program but the debit-style card given to participants to access the funds. You might just want to clarify that bit.

We went off SNAP in February, and you might be surprised to know that there were Papa John's menus in the HSA office. (BTW, SNAP is one of those hot button topics that will drive comments out of the woodwork! I wrote a few posts about receiving it last June and they're still some of my most viewed and most commented on topics!)

For me, it's cheaper to buy Papa John's than to buy all of the ingredients separately at the grocery store to make a pizza from scratch at home. I don't usually buy them because I don't care for how the the crust turns out in my oven, but it isn't unreasonably expensive meal.

That was interesting. i did not know that food stamps could be used for pizza purchases. One pizza company may just be the start of many more.
