Hi Folks,
Anybody have this issue where their site is slower to load via mobile and visiting the site via search, and once you land on your site, you get redirected to download a game/app in the app store on iPhone?
If so, is the malware on the physical phone or on the website? I'm trying to figure out how to remove such malware.
Thanks,
Sam

I think I found the culprit. It is an ad network called MEDIASTRIKE. I've used them for one of my banner ads for a while below the fold. I've had to tell them to remove shady ads, and now they've got this redirect code to download games. Very shady. DO NOT USE.

Got it. Thanks for the heads-up Sam. I'm putting them on "the list".

Good to hear – I stopped using them last year. Sad to hear they are resorting to shady tactics.

Just a heads up, it looks like the ad networks aren't purposefully injecting them. The end client is e.g. Game of War app… but then again, maybe not. Maybe the ad networks are just turning a blind eye.
At the end of the day, it is up to the ad network to make a decree not to do such things. And it is up to the publisher to find out who is doing such things and removing such ad networks if they wish.

Hey everyone,
I run ad network Adosia (https://adosia.com) and thought it might be helpful to provide some firsthand insight into this issue.
We've noticed malicious ads like these creep into some of our partner exchanges and networks affecting both iOS and Android devices (happened just this month).
Though the ads vary in nature (some redirect to app stores while others initiate an alert on the phone that a virus has been detected), they have infiltrated numerous ad networks.
What we discovered is these ads are more likely to be displayed when your CPM floors are below ~$0.20 on Android and below ~$0.30 iOS. To eliminate these ads, we basically just set all our network floors above $0.30.
Hope that helps….
