Thanks all.

We'll see what was actually recovered early this week …. The computers would be nice.  The data key great too (it had so much stuff on it ..).  Not sure about my Canadian-winter-proof jacket or our camera and i'm guessing all the cash in wallets and the gift cards are gone.  We'll see.

A happy announcement.

We got a call from our police department today.

They caught the jerk who broke into our house!

Not only that, he was sitting on a TON of stolen stuff!

We expect to get my laptop and Mrs. SPF's netbook back.  Our wallets were even found.

Not sure about the jacket, camera, data key, cordless mouse, cash (obviously gone) and Christmas gift cards … but we'll see!

Good news!

Wow! I really like Canadian police! Smile Great news! I hope they don't let him go on bail. I am more than happy for you. It doesn't happen too often.

The constable told me had had burglarized numerous houses and should be going away (again) for at least a few years.

I am so glad they caught the prowler.  I can't imagine what a scary thing that must have been to go through.

I am a bit paranoid.  As a result, I lock both cats and both dogs and my purse in my bedroom with me at night.  That way I at least know if someone gets in they are not going to take or harm my most pressious possessions.

I hope you can get all your items back.

Well, it seems the other cop jumped the gun and didn't check the registration numbers of the computers against the police report.

We won't be getting anything back it seems.  Sucky.

Hi all,

Short update.

My Mom wasn't using her netbook and she gave it to us.  Mrs. SPF is super grateful.

We used our tax return to get my laptop and soon-to-be TV set up (saving us about $100 a month? maybe $120? for a $800 investment)

We still have security issues to deal with on our home which will cost money, but we feel better getting our lives back to how they were at the end of 2010.
