If you've noticed less activity from me the last little while, we have family visiting and my computer went permanently to sleep yesterday morning. But visitors leaving this evening, so I can give my attention to getting back on my digital feet. Had to get up at 5 am today to steal a couple hours on my wife's laptop. Pray for me please that the back-up gods look kindly on me as I try to recover.

Those back up gods can sure be fickle and cruel. I hope you've been making regular sacrifices. Good luck.

Yuck! I'm sorry to hear that. I hate it when that happens.

I'm making this post from my new MacBook Air! Pretty slick. Turns out the issue with my old computer was with the motherboard, not the hard drive. So the store where I bought the new MacBook transferred everything from old hard drive to new. It's like nothing happened, except for the ding to the pocketbook.
Thanks for the sympathies and well wishes. I should be caught up and back to what passes for normal for me tomorrow.
PS I did have a week-old back up, but still I was very pleased to hear the old hard drive was usable.
