How do you stay motivated to keep pushing at your blog? What keeps you going?

Community, people, building relationships, taking breaks, giving myself some rest, reading inspiring blogs, watching my blog grow, writing process itself, ideas, people. Sometimes it is tough, sometimes it is easy. But it is never boring.

If I miss a weekday post, more than 10 people will email me to see if I am dead, pregnant, feeling okay, or burnt out. Needless to say, it's easier for me to make sure to post every day than to scare the poop out of my most loyal readers.

I love making a mind map of all my goals for my site. I have multiple maps, but my main one is plastered as a desktop background so that it is always staring back at me. I focus on only one thing at a time so that I don't feel overwhelmed. Using "MindJet" app for my android is awesome but "Simple Mind+" for iPad is my favorite. I use both for different things, but I am so much more productive this way as having a million goals in my head tends to make me feel overwhelmed and never accomplished. Hope this helps.

Dannielle,
The relationships have certainly played a part but I can't say that's what drives me to continue to go. Having only started my blog in late November I've gotten a little burnt out from time-to-time, and I even noticed my mindset change a bit when I joined the Yakezie challenge.
When I joined the challenge my driving force was getting my Alexa ranking down. My competitive drive simply propelled me to work hard at that, but the reality is that challenge goes away and eventually you'll only get your Alexa rank down so far.
So once I reached the Alexa rank goal I felt a little burnt-out again and I've found I ALWAYS have to remind myself of why I originally started my blog: to help people. Any time I start to rely on another motivation I've found that it eventually runs out and I'm stuck in a rut. I consistently have to go back to my initial desire and that proves to be true for me at the end of the day and that's what keeps me going.

I'm motivated by my love of blogging and this network that we're all a part of – not just Yakezie, but also the network of bloggers who aren't part of Yakezie as well (they'll get here eventually).
I also found that watching my stats increase, Alexa drop, and traffic boom and comments.. I could go on and on but watching my blog grow is very motivating.

Growth is very motivating.. And I definitely see a direct correlation with the amount of work that I put in (networking, using social media, submitting articles to sites like StumbleUpon, Reddit, etc)– and the amount of traffic that we get.
Our output has slowed a bit in recent weeks.. but not really because of lack of motivation.
More because life is getting in the way, here and there.
I think we just need to settle into our posting sweet spot.
It is probably somewhere around 4 posts p/week ,with no more than one of those posts being "fluff posts".
The fluff posts are, of course: Spending Recaps, Article Roundups, Debt Updates, Site News, etc…

I have been blogging for only 10 weeks at this point. My main motivation is getting my average visitors per day up.

I've been at this only since early Nov 2011, but I'm motivated mainly because I enjoy learning and writing about the subject matter of my blog. Secondly, having never tackled blogging or anything similar before, it's fun to learn all the ancillary stuff related to promoting the blog and driving traffic. At this point, seeing progress in the various metrics and a little revenue coming in is energizing–I suppose that will plateau, hopefully not soon! As long as I'm learning, I don't think I'll get bored with it.

I am committed to sharing my personal finance and investing knowledge and experience. If I help one or two readers propel themselves toward wealth, then I am going in the right direction. I'm also growing my patience….. I don't expect overnight success.

Ask yourself this question, "Why do you want to blog?" Then keep reviewing that purpose constantly to motivate yourself.

I would say focus on what you enjoy about blogging. Outsource those things that you neither care to do or have the expertise to do.

Thanks for your responses, you guys are the best. :)
I think Jason summed up exactly how I'm feelings. I started this blog to help others. That was the driving force behind it and still is. But like Jason also said, you can only get your Alexa ranking down so far, and I think that also added to my "blogger burn-out".
I'll admit that studying really got in the way, and I was posting crappy stuff. So I regrouped and focused on well thought out topics and I think I'm slowly getting back there again. My readership is growing slowly but surely and I'm happy about that.
My blog is not monetised the way that I would like (Adsense is there, but it does nothing. lol). But that is minor because I know that I need to work a little harder at it.

What also helps is remembering that it takes time for anything to grow. When I feel discouraged I read the About Me pages of the most successful bloggers and it reminds me that they put a lot of sweat and tears to get their blog to where it is today.

The outsourcing point made by Frugal Toad is an excellent one. It took me forever to learn that part and to let things go that I'm not good at and focus on what I like to most about blogging.
